Chapter 3: Preparations

 

InuYasha, Higurashi-san, and Ji-san all sat at the kitchen table, discussing Kagome's 18th Birthday, which happened to be the very next day.

“Ok, so we've inviting Kagome's school friends, Sango and Miroku, Shippou-” (“Of course! The runt would have a mental breakdown if he didn't come to his `mommy's' Surprise Birthday Party.” InuYasha scoffed.) “- was there anyone else?” Higurashi-san checked off the little boxes on a sheet of paper. The Guys shook their heads. “We'll need pop, chips and other junk food. I'll do that. InuYasha, your job is to keep Kagome from walking in on us. Ji-san, you, you…decorate! Yeah, decorate!”

“Feh, this'll be fun. I'm going to have a time trying to keep Kags away; you know how she gets Okaa-san.” InuYasha protested. Higurashi-san nodded. *A/N: Higurashi-san told Inu to call her `Okaa-san' or `Mother'.*

“Yes, but I know you of all people can InuYasha.” She beamed. InuYasha blushed at what she was leading to.

“Okaa-san! Ji-san! InuYasha! I'm home!” Kagome called from the living room. Everyone scrambled everyone except Higurashi-san, who merely went into the study and came back a minute later, the piece of paper gone.

“Konichi wa Kagome-goreijou, how was your last day at school?” Asked Higurashi-san politely, giving InuYasha a look that meant `Go. Say. Hello. To. Her.' InuYasha got the message and went into the living room. He snuck up behind her and covered her eyes with his hands. *You know that “Guess Who” thing sweethearts and BFF's pull on each other.*

“Guess Who?”

“Inu!”

“Ha, you're getting too good at that for your own good.” He said as she whirled around and gave him a kiss hello. *FYI these two are doing little flirting stuff. They still haven't gotten past the “he's/she's my boyfriend/girlfriend, he's/she's my boyfriend/girlfriend!” yet.*

“Inu, I have some stupid math and science homework to do but that can wait, I have all summer!” *I'm just chancing it that she's born somewhere around summer* “Come on, let's go visit Sango, Miroku, Shippou and Kaede-sama. I'll bet they'll be happy to see us.”

“Feh, the little whelp will probably be the first to your arms as soon as we get there. You do know you're his adopted mum, right?”

“Hai.”

“I'm hungry. Let's eat.”

“Hm, let me guess the menu; Ramen, Ramen and ooh, Ramen!”

“Yup!”

“What, no Oden?”

“Nope, Ramen.”

“(sigh) alright.”
