But she still quivers
At the smallest sound

She keeps her head
Held up so high
But deep inside
She wants to cry

Her tiny hands
Balled into fists
As her thoughts

She wants to scream
She wants to yell
Because she still sits
In her home, her hell

Tears slid down
Her fragile face
And her heart

She has heard the curses
All before
But each time they're said
It hurts her more
