The girl wiped a tear from her cheek and looked up startled as the boy sat next to her on the bench. “Don't look at me!" she whispered as she turned away.
“Why?”
“Because I'm nobody special," came the quiet reply.
The boy turned and grasped the girl's chin, looked at the tear-streaked face. He took gentle fingers and wiped the tears away, then pulled her into an embrace. “To me you are,” and Houjo held Kagome as she cried.
