Chapter Thirteen
Keep On Keepin On

"Gaara!"Naruto squealed with glee pouncing on the tall redhead, who replied with a silent but furious blush.

"Uh..Hello, Naruto,"Gaara stated.

"Alright, alright, off now,"Temari joked, running a hand through her blond bangs. "How have you been Naruto?"

"Well, I've had better days,"Naruto admitted. Gaara brushed himself off, and stood tall. "Dear Kami, Gaara, you've been drinking milk haven't you? Look at how much you've grown!"

"Naruto!"snapped Tsunade.

"What?"Naruto whined.

"Stop acting like a child and go entertain yourself until our meeting is adjourned,"Tsunade instructed.

"Why can't I stay here?"Naruto asked. "With Gaara-cookie?"

'Gaara-cookie?!'everyone thought.

"Because one, the Kazekage is here on business, and second of all, if you're going to call anyone a cookie then out you go." Tsunade placed her hands on her hips and tapped her foot impatiently.

"Fine! I'll go entertain Shizune-san,"Naruto declared exiting the room quickly. "Old grandma,"Naruto mumbled.

"WHAT WAS THAT?!"Tsunade roared, tossing her stapler at his head, hitting it dead on. Naruto shouted out and quickly exited the room.

Gaara watched him leave, trying very hard not to let that forbidden kind smile grace his features.

Hinata didn't know what was wrong with Neji. He had just come home all wide eyed and sputtering nonsense. The white eyed girl had long since called Sakura, wondering why Rock Lee had answered the phone. Partially because she had to hear all about youth and that junk he spurted off.

"Don't worry Neji-niisan, it'll be okay,"Hinata comforted.

"No. Never be okay. Never,"Neji spoke as if he'd seen a ghost or was tortured to death.

"Oh my, what happened?!"exclaimed Sakura who was accompianied by Ran Hazumi who carried a medic-nin kit.

"Neji-san?"Ran questioned, kneeling down towards the long haired man.

"He looks spooked!"Sakura exclaimed. "What happend Neji?"

"NEVER BE OKAY AGAIN!"Neji shouted out.

"HINATA! SAKURA! RAN!"a voice from the window nearly shouted. The three women looked up to see two people crouched at the window. Kaoru Hazumi, Rans older sister by a year, and a man whom the girls recongnized as Hagane Akio, Aiji's eldest brother.

The metal user and the flower user both seemed out of breath.

"What's wrong?"Hinata asked, concern tainting her voice.

"Natsu said you would be here,"Akio spoke towards Sakura and Ran. "It's Uchiha-san. He's-what's wrong with Neji?"

"We don't know,"Hinata sighed.

"He looks exactly what Sasuke looks like,"Kaoru stated.

"NOT SASUKE! NEVER BE CLEAN AGAIN!"shouted Neji burrying his head into his pillow.

"Sasuke?"Sakura questioned. "Where is he?"

"He's at his home, and he's saying the same stuff Neji is,"Akio stated. "I merely stopped by to tell him that the Hokage requested him, and found him trying to drown himself."

"What happened Neji?"nearly shouted Ran, shaking the shoulders of the Byakugan user. Neji turned to Ran and faced the others with a look of horror.

"W-w-we KISSED!"Neji then began to cry.

"We've had informants claim similiar reports,"Gaara stated.

"This is not good,"Tsunade stated in a low tone. "If the accusations are true, then we're on the brink of a war and we'd have never known."

"We have several agents stationed within our allied countries reporting on any new information upon the subject,"Gaara replied. "Because of this we of Suna, wish to station some agents with Konoha, and in return you may station agents of Konoha in Suna to ensure your best interests."

"This is a serious situation,"Tsunade proclaimed. "One that cannot be overlooked, so very well. You may station agents here, and in return we shall station agents in Suna. We will send some of our top agents."

"Very well,"Gaara stated.

It was late. Very late. In fact too late to discuss diplomatic issues. Tsunade couldn't help but yawn.

"Shall we adjourn for the evening?"Tsunade offered. Gaara nodded.

"Good night, Hokage-sama,"Gaara nodded his exit. Tsunade responded with a yawning "Night," before she left.

"TSUNADE-BAAABBAAAAAAAA!"whined Naruto.

"What, brat?!"Tsunade asked.

"I'm hunnnnngry,"Naruto continued.

"Lets go brat,"Tsunade sighed, noting that Naruto was only whining to agrivate her. "And stop annoying me, or you can spend the night at Iruka's."

Naruto paused.

"That's just cruel Tsunade!"

Gaara watched as Naruto and Tsunade walked away, towards her home. Temari smacked his shoulder gently to snap him out of his trance.

"Geez, you're certainly preoccupied lately aren't you?"Temari half joked, half stated. "It's Naruto isn't it?"

Gaara scoffed a rock on the ground and kicked it off towards a building.

"Cheer up lil bro,"Kankuro stated. "He called you a 'cookie' remember." Temari whacked Kankuro over the head with her fan earning an earful of curse words.

The seven Suna ninja's that provided the Kazekage's support stiffled laughter.

Temari whacked Kankuro over the head again, one shinobi catching him before he hit the ground in a single swift movement.

"Thanks,"Kankuro mumbled, nursing the growing bump on his head. The ninja that caught him made a sound of 'your welcome.'

Temari and the others noticed that Gaara was walking away.

"Gaara! Wait up!"Temari called. She caught up quickly to her little brother placing a concerned look on her face. "What's wrong with you?"

"Why would he like me?"Gaara mumbled, turning his head away with a light blush.

"Why wouldn't he like you is the question!"Temari exclaimed. "What's up?" She had never seen Gaara like this before.

"Nothing,"he sulked, walking away to where those of Suna would be calling home for a while.

"Eh, so Naruto,"Tsunade yawned, "Why are you so bent on not going to Iruka's house to stay?"

"You don't enjoy my company?"Naruto asked Tsunade.

"I'm just curious why you nearly cry every time I mention it,"she answered pouring herself a cup of sake.

"I thought you were tired,"Naruto said, noting the drink.

"I am. I always have a cup of sake before bed,"Tsunade stated. "Now, stop avoiding the subject and answer my question."

Naruto shivered before walking over to Tsunade. He hesitated for a second and then cupped his hands over her ear and began to whisper.

Tsunade immediately began to blush and during the time where Naruto was telling her every excrutiating detail, she piped up with comments of, "Oh my!" "Really!" "Well, I never!" and "Rolled the hips you say?"

"Tsunade!"Naruto scolded.

"What?!"Tsunade defended herself upon her last comment.

"I'm going to bed and hoping to dear God that tommorrow isn't as hectic as today was."

"I'm going to bed with nightmares of Kakashi and Iruka screwing like wild bunnies in my head,"Tsunade mumbled.

"Argh! Now I got that image in my head again! Dirty thoughts! DIRTY!"Naruto cried out.

"Good night Naruto,"smirked Tsunade, clicking off her light.

Morning came as Sasuke slid out of his bed, shivering slightly from the events before. He had showered at least seven times that night, scrubbing himself raw. He looked at the clock and noticed that he had at least another half an hour before his team met up. He shrugged on his blue shirt, pulled up his pants, bandaged his arms and legs, before putting on his sandals and jounin vest.

Tying the headband securely around his forehead, he left his home and jumped to meet up with his team.

Akina yawned deeply, causing Shiro to yawn. Yuki had his arms crossed and leaned casually against the tree, a glare crossing his features.

"Morning Team,"Sasuke greeted with little enthusiasm.

"Morning Uchiha-senei,"they replied in unison: Akina in a tired voice, Shiro in a bored voice, and Yuki in a deadly tone.

"First exercize, chakra warm ups. I want each of you to climb to the tops of these three trees, and use your chakra not only to climb but to flip off,"Sasuke stated. "And land past me." Sasuke then positioned himself a good fifty feet from the tree.

His team groaned and prepared to go at it.

Akina was the first to break followed by Yuki and then Shiro. When she flipped off, she managed ten feet.

"Concentrate!"Sasuke shouted out. Shiro managed a good sixteen feet. Yuki managed thirty feet.

'That boy has great potential,'Sasuke noted mentally. 'But why does he look like he's going to kill someone?'

They tried again. Yuki managed to get closer by five feet. Shiro managed to come in second only by ten feet, and Akina achieved the same.

On the third try, Yuki had achieved fifty two and a half feet. Akina came close by fourty seven and Shiro a bit shorter with thirty.

"Izanami, tell me what's on your mind?"Sasuke demanded in a professional tone to Yuki. The young boy turned to face Sasuke with a spiteful look in his eyes.

"She can never love me because she's too busy loving you,"Yuki spat. Sasuke was suprised.

"What? Are you talking about Hagane-san?"Sasuke asked with raised eyebrows.

"Her name is Aiji!"Yuki began to yell. Akina and Shiro paused in her exercise to see Yuki losing his usual cool composure.

"It's not my fault,"Sasuke sternly noted.

"I know it's not. I apologize,"Yuki stated sincerely. Another difference between the Uchiha prodigy and the Izanami prodigy, Yuki could do something that Sasuke has trouble doing: apologizing. "I just wish she could see me like she sees you."

"I believe she does,"Akina spoke up.

The two silent men looked up. "She talks about you more Yuki-san, much more than Uchiha-sensei. Just something to think about." And with that she returned to her exercises.

"Now I feel like a jackass,"Yuki smiled weakly.

"Love makes you do dumb things,"Sasuke admitted, looking towards the sky.

Hagane Akio sported a deadly glare walking down the streets of Konoha, with his younger thirteen year old sister by his side. Wearing a lovely summer dress, of a sunshine yellow, her hair clipped back in her favorite orange dragonfly clip. She held in her hand a large red rose and a light blush upon her face.

Akio didn't like it one bit. He was very overprotective of his younger sister and when she had recieved the roses under mysterious circumstances, the first thing he did was inspect the roses, much to Aiji's dismay.

A few headache pills later, the flowers were clean of any poisons, and Aiji had read a note that she would not allow Akio to see. Ever since then, she had been sporting a light blush, and constantly smelling the most perfect rose to come out of the fresh blooms. She had dressed in her best summer dress.

"I don't like this,"Akio mumbled.

"Oh hush,"Aiji scolded with a playful punch to his arm.

"No guy is going to date you, you know that right?"Akio sneered.

"Oh knock it off Akio!"whined Aiji.

"I don't trust boys around you,"Akio grunted.

"Well, I appreciate the concern but I AM a ninja, and I am fully capable of defending myself!"Aiji snorted.

"You are a GENIN, still learning under a sensei,"Akio pointed out. Aiji huffed and stomped foreward.

"Aiji,"called Akio in an slightly annoyed voice.

"You can stop following me Akio!"Aiji shouted out.

"Not until I find the little punk who thinks he'll date you, and rip him to shreds,"Akio replied in an equal shout.

"Oh leave her be!"called out the voice of Yamanaka Ino as she stepped out of her shop for a break. "You baby her Akio."

"Ino,"nodded Akio in a greet as he watched Aiji step away. "Hey, Ino, who bought a dozen red roses from you today?"

Ino placed a finger to her lips with a little smile. "Can't tell." Akio crossed his arms and sighed heavilly.

"Why not?"he asked a bit agitated.

"Because that girl needs to experience love,"Ino replied.

"Hmph. Any guy that hurts her will experience my foot in their asses,"Akio stated. Ino couldn't help but giggle lightly. "Let her have her crushes and infatuations."

"Spoken like a true woman who grew up,"Akio smiled a bit.

"Yeah. So...you gonna buy something or loiter all day?"

Akio sweatdropped.

"Brat, what are you doing?"Tsunade asked with a bored gaze onto the blond haired jounin eagerly laughing evilly.

"You certainly ask that question a lot,"Naruto noted.

"That's because you do stuff that is questionable, Naruto,"Tsunade pointed out, sipping slightly on her cup of sake.

"Well, if you MUST know, I am devising a plan, a brilliant one at that, to get back at Neji and Sasuke for using me for money,"Naruto snorted.

"Oh, and how so?"Tsunade questioned with a grin forming on her face.

"Well, last night I achieved stage one out of two. I made them make out with eachother and made it seem that it was with me!"Naruto thrust his hand in the air. Tsunade sweatdropped.

"So what's stage two genius?"Tsunade mocked playfully.

"Well, it's still in the works, but it involves Gaara."

"Don't you mean Gaara-cookie?"Tsunade laughed.

"I only said that becuase I like it when he blushes,"Naruto smiled in return. "It's kinda cute. He's like a cuddly panda."

"So what is Gaara's part?"Tsunade asked.

"Well, it'll take a lot of bribing but I want him to disguise himself as me, and together me and him will lure Sasuke and Neji into a rather embarassing situation,"Naruto began. "The rest of the plan is still in the works but I promise you, it'll be good!"

Tsunade laughed.

"I think you're drunk,"Naruto pointed out.

"I think you're right."
