- Marie's pov-
It was high noon in the Village hidden in the leaves. "Ninjas are on missions, regular people are shopping and fixing up broken parts of the village that was destroyed by orochimaru...But who cares about that? I'm stuck here training to be a perfect girl who surpasses sweaty kunoichi's, when I really want to be out there in all the action!"
I plopped back down on my bed and sighed. 'I'm always stuck at home doing the same thing everyday and having my life planned out for me. I've never had any really friends...except hinata. I've never even seen other people in the village or even seen the village.'
My snotty little sister poked her head in form the sliding door. “If you keep daydreaming about being a ninja you're going to be late for that important meeting."
I sat up from my bed. “What important meeting?"
She shrugged her shoulders. "I think the one with finding you a boyfriend/ husband. Mom and grandma are waiting for you at that beauty salon right now."
I jumped out of bed and ran all over my room looking for something to wear that's presentable. “Why didn't anyone tell me?! I'm so dead!" I grabbed my tight black shirt and tights with a red sash and ran out the door. I could faintly hear her say 'Not only are you dead, you're also late.' I ignored her and ran to the front of the mansion where my shoes are. I quickly slipped them on and took to the rooftops.
*** In the Village somewhere ***
Mrs. Takemina was waiting for her daughter. "Of all the times she showed up on time she chooses now to be late. I should've prayed to the ancestor's guidance."
Grandma came to her with a cricket in a small cage. "How helpful can they be? They're dead stiff. Ha! Get it?"
The beauty salon lady came from under the curtains. “Is your daughter here yet? I can't wait forever." she went back inside and my mother sighed when she saw me jump down from the roof top with a smile on my face, while she didn't have a smile. I frowned. "What? But, momma I didn't--" she shook her head and lead me inside. "None of your excuses. Now let's get you cleaned up"
The beauty salon lady began singing when she looked at me.
"This is what you give me to work with,
Well honey I've see worse,"
She pushed me into a huge bathroom.
"We're going to turn this girl here,
Into a silk purse..."
She pushed me into a cold bathtub.
I shuddered. "It's freezing!”
Mom help up a washcloth. “It would've been warm if you were here on time.”
A bucket of water spilled on my head along with other stuff I don't know.
We'll have you washed and dried,
Primped and polished,
Till you glow with pride,
Trust my recipe for instant bride,
And you'll bring honor to us all…”
They got me out of the tub and into a robe so we can go get my hair fixed and when we got there more women started singing!
“Wait and see when we're through,
Boys will gladly go on missions for you,”
“With good fortune”
“And a great hairdo”
“You'll bring honor to us all…”
Next they dragged me to get fitted for a kimono and guess what more singing.
Mom “a girl can bring her family great honor in one way,
By striking a good match…and this could be that day!”
They measured me and dressed me while singing this annoying song.
Men want girls with good taste,”
“Calm”
“Obedient”
“To work fast paced”
“With good breeding and a tiny waist.”
They squeezed the sash around my waist.
Together “you'll bring honor to us all”
Me, mom, and grandma wondered the village to get make-up applied and I noticed that I wasn't the only girls getting dolled up for a stupid meeting.
We all must look our very best,
And that can be no fun,”
“A man must be strong,
A girl must bear a son!”
I looked around seeing that all the women had gone crazy. I kneeled down on a pillow to have the make-up applied.
“When we're through
You can't fail, like a lotus blossom,
Soft and pale”
“How could any ninja say,
No sale, you'll bring honor to us...”
“You'll bring honor to us…”
Mom “you'll bring honor to us all...” she smiled proudly. “There you're ready.”
Grandma came from the backroom with some items. “Not yet. An apple for serenity. A pendent for balance…
Beads of jade for beauty, you must proudly show it…now add a cricket, just for luck.” She hides it under my sash and slaps my hip. “And even you can't blow it.”
Now that I was officially ready I left the salon and went to the hokage faces and started singing myself.
“Hokages hear my plea,
Help me not to make a fool of me,
And to not uproot my family tree,
Keep my clan standing tall…”
I looked at the position of the sun and saw that if I don't hurry I'll be in trouble. All women who had to go to the meeting at the hokage tower left too. Everyone started singing including me.
“Scarier than the undertaker
I'm about to meet my maker!
Destiny help our girls and their future as it fast unfurls
Please look kindly at these cultured pearls
Each a perfect porcelain doll…” (The final verse was please bring honor to us all 4x)

I used the teleportation jutsu to appear on the roof where my father was waiting for me along with other fathers and their sons. Soon all the girls who were forced to marry like me lined up to meet our future husbands. I had to say none of these men look good enough for me. They were either too old or too young. I'm 15 so what do I know?
My father leaned down and whispered, “Do any of these fine ninja look good enough for you? Any one at all? Just point one out.”
I looked up and down the row to find that most of the boys were taken by prettier girls. I look further down and saw one boy standing on the far end. `That's that shino aburame from hinata's team.' I pointed to him. “How about him dad? That guy over there?”
My father followed my gaze and growled. “No. not him. That's Shino Aburame and his father Shibi Aburame. He's not suitable for you and never will be.”
“Huh? But…why not? He looks okay from where I'm standing.”
Father said, “Well then, we're moving down wind.”
I put my hands on my hips. “You know this guy is probably the only guy I will accept as my husband. You're going to blow it, father.”

To be continued…
That's it for now. This is my first time so I want to see how this turns out before I continue. Thanks for reading. Read and review in the name of Lady Amazon.
