This was an assignment I had to do for school and I liked it so much, that I decided to post it here. The assignment was to make our own Canterbury Tales story with our own characters. The prolouge introducing the character had to be eight lines and the story had to be 20 lines. Enjoy!

“I'm off on a venture!”

Declared the beautiful creature.

Aldaina was an elf

And traveled by herself.

All she had was a shield and sword

To protect her while she explored.

But a mighty power dwelled

In the weapon that she held.

From dark `till dawn

Her sword was always drawn.

Then during the day,

She slept her fatigue away.

Aldaina was living the life she had dreamed,

Yet something was missing it seemed.

Then, when she chance to meet Lycon,

She knew what it was anon.

He was an elf like her

And they continued to journey together.

Their love was strong,

And life, a song.

So it went until Fate

Decided to take the life of her mate.

He sacrificed himself so that she might be spared,

And in his death, he showed for her how much he cared.

Lycon's noble and selfless act,

Awoke the spirit in Aldaina's sword that

Defied Fate and brought him back so they could be together

In this life and after, forever and ever.
