Forgotten Time

Butterflies roared and pounded in their imprisonment trying to break free,
To get out,
So they could fly to the heavens,
Bang on the gates and create their apocalypse I the pearly whit palace.

To fly in the sky would be a dream,
To plunge to your death would be a nightmare,
So if you are in the process of both,
Where would that leave you?
In purgatory,
Limbo?
Or just there,
Not living or dying,
Is this what eternal life would feel like?
You're just there,
In existance.
The world around you is moving but you're standing still.
This is how I feel when I go into my mind,
When I want to get away,
In my mind everything is as I left it,
The dragon is still doing acrobatics in the sky,
Night is still upon this plane of existence,
The stars are out and the planets can be seen in detail,
Everything is right and calm,
When I come out of my haven though,
Where the sun was just rising,
It is now high in the sky,
There was a caterpillar on my foot,
It has left it's resting place,
Everything has changed from when I went to my place,
And this once again reminds me that the would and time,
Waits for no one, thing or creature,
If I died now,
The world would continue to spin,
Creatures would die and be born again,
And I would eventually be forgotten,
I think people are not only afraid of dieing and going into the unknown,
But also afraid of being forgotten once they're gone,
That their time here,
What they did,
The strong emotions they felt,
The words they spoke,
The small but significant actions they took will bi lost to the wind,
That's why people write,
Draw,
Paint,
Make movies,
Build,
It's a way,
A hope,
Of reserving who they were,
What they felt,
They hope that their work and words will be found,
Read,
Watched,
And remembered.
