Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ It's All In My Head ❯ Chapter 1

[ A - All Readers ]

Watching the time ticking away,
My brain begins to slowly decay.
I muster all of my strength
Trying to stay awake,
But nothing seems to help.
Eventually,
It's obvious to me,
That my mind was meant to wander.
I begin to think, I begin to ponder,
Where else, right now, could I be?
Pretending to listen,
Not paying attention,
The gears begin to turn.
The classroom is replaced
By a room with a vase,
Near to the beach, I can see.
Stepping outside and smelling the air,
I sprout wings and I'm there:
In my most favorite place anywhere.
Taking off at last,
So far and so fast,
I leave the beautiful beach behind.
Over the water and under the sun,
Flipping and rolling, it's so much fun!
Flapping my wings and gliding awhile,
My lips broaden into a smile.
There on the horizon,
The land appears!
Greens and browns,
Plains and mounds,
The waves hitting the shore.
Oh, what a sight!
Oh, what a sound!
The beautiful, beautiful land!
I point towards the ground,
And then I slow down,
Receiving full points from the crowd!
Then the people are gone,
My friends come along.
We walk,
And we talk,
Traversing all of the land!
All of a sudden,
A harsh ringing cries out,
Waking me up from my thoughts.
Looking around,
I'm still sitting down,
While all the rest have already gone.
I rush to pick up
All of my stuff,
Then hurriedly get to my next class.
The teacher is talking,
The clock is tick-tocking,
And the ocean returns quite fast.
