Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ My Poems ❯ Poem #11 ( Chapter 11 )

[ A - All Readers ]

I can survive the instinct.
I can survive the emotions.
I cannot hate.
I cannot fear.
I cannot shield myself.
I must fight against it.
I must destroy it.
I do not feel this beast,
Clawing its way out of my heartbeats.
I am not torn any longer.
There was never a beast.
There was never an emotion to exceed what we have.
The beast is haunting.
I cannot die here.
There is no beast.
There never was.
Yet the fear flows through my veins
As clearly as if it were there
And where it has vanished from
I gladly embrace the hollow feelings it left for me.
No words can ever make this right.
And so, I smile innocently.
I am a beast no longer.
Instead, I am empty, and gladly so,
I
Give
You
My
Life.
