Sweet Embrace

Dancing gracefully in the screaming winds
Helpless petals swirl in broken patterns
Like a dying flame, another life ends
And through the thick fog, a shape she discerns
Cold fingers caress her milky pale skin
Dead breaths now escape from her heaving breasts
And from her lips come the words, “Tis le fin.”
Slowly her breath stops, and her body rests
Glossy, emotionless blue eyes stare out
Pleading with God, or some higher being
Her fading red lips frozen in a pout
For her life she lay silently pleading
Oh what a sorrowful ending is this!
For none can escape Death's passionate kiss.
