“This is so annoying!”
Golden lenses behind a pair of reading glasses regarded the irate Champion with amusement. “What is so annoying, my dear?”
“These marriage proposals are driving me crazy!” Red spluttered.
Lance eyed him speculatively, running her eyes up and down the lithe frame. She licked her lips appreciatively.
“Well, you are sinfully adorable, Champion. You're also quite wealthy, and you have fame and a good position in the League…”
Red fumed as he clambered onto her lap. “Well, I still don't like being treated like a piece of meat! It's disgusting!”
“Undoubtedly,” She said, placing a kiss on his cheek. “But you must admit that the incentive is there…”

Red scowled. “There is no way I am ever going to lose a battle on purpose.”
She looked startled. “I would never ask that of you!”
Who did he suppose she was, anyway? Were they not friends? She could not believe he would think so little of her.
Did he think that because she was a girl, she would condone cheating? Lance hoped not. She might have to teach him a lesson, if he were.
He fidgeted for a moment, before he looked at her.

“Then will you marry me?”
For a moment, Lance just gaped at him. “Honestly, I was not thinking that either, but if you wish, I can dress up for you.”
“Yay!” He hugged her tightly. That would really help solve a lot of his problems. Besides, she looked pretty no matter what she wore.
The Dragon Master chuckled as she kissed the Champion, and for the moment, things were solved.
It would be different, she thought, finally being able to know him intimately, but perhaps, it would be for the best this way.
He beamed. “I love you.”
She was not sure if she could believe him yet, but seeing Red's earnest expression, she had to hope that this wedding would turn out for the better.

An incentive is something that induces a person to act (Brief principles of Macroeconomics, Fourth Edition by N. Gregory Mankiw). For example, if farmers were recompensed economically for lost sheep, they wouldn't shoot wolves. Or so we hope.
