Chapter 4

“Do you really think Team Magma is up here?” Red asked, as they released their Aerodactyls. “I mean, it's not as if you have any proof.”
Lance raised an eyebrow.
Red flushed. “Never mind. I'm sorry.”
“It is all right. Besides, I had enough to do, calming all the panicked pokémon that raced down the mountainside this morning. Their minds were open books.”
Red nodded. They were almost there, as flying was much quicker than hiking. Their gear had just been for show.
“There.” Lance pointed. He could see blue and red all over the canyon, and a machine that was beeping. Lance's eyes narrowed.
“What's he doing?”
“Trying to make this volcano explode.” Lance's lip curled in disgust.
Red swallowed. “But if he did that, then Lavaridge…”
“Yes. The fool. Or perhaps not so much a fool, considering what we had planned when we set up Cerise…”
“It's all right.” Red patted Lance on the arm.
“Are you up for another try, later?”
“No. They're probably watching the Island, and no sane trainer would go there. Plus… say Lance, are the badges still there?”
Lance laughed. “No. I managed to collect them and hide them before I was captured.”
Red huffed out a sigh of relief. “That's good.”
“Clair has them.”
“Even better.” Red grinned impishly. “So, ready for our dramatic entrance?”
“Not just yet, Red. The Aerodactyls will be suspicious.” They hid behind a few trees and then recalled their pokémon.
“Now remember, we hiked up here.”
“I know.” Red grinned. He and Lance walked out onto the path, stretching and yawning. “Wow, nice view-.” Red said, and then pretended to notice all the Team Magma grunts clustered around. “What's this?”
Lance did not respond verbally. He attacked. A Tyranitar popped out of its poke ball and began demolishing the Poochyna closest. It was quite a sight, but Red knew he had no time to appreciate it.
He ran up to where the man - Maxie? Was putting the meteorite in the machine. “No! You can't do this!”
Maxie sneered. “Oh, a little boy out to stop me? Hah! Mightyena, Camerupt, go!”
“Not so fast!” Red snarled. “Vaporeon, Poliwhirl, go!”

Type advantage could hold, but for how long? Red scowled as he released a Magnemite. The magnet understood. It levitated the machine and meteorite up and dropped them both into the volcano.
Hopefully that would solve the problem.
“Blast!” Maxie shouted. Red managed to duck the rocks Camerupt began flinging at him, but let out a cry of pain as Mightyena clamped down on his arm.
“Kill him.” Maxie ordered.

Archie stiffened from across the field. Maxie wouldn't really, would he? The strange boy with white hair who had released the Tyranitar looked absolutely panicked, and he pointed his pokemon forwards with an order for Earthquake…
However, even an Earthquake did not dislodge a rabid dog.

Red groaned as he reached for another poke ball, releasing its occupant. The Victreebel sprayed Poisonpowder into Mightyena's eyes, and Red quickly yanked his arm away when the blinded dog howled. Victreebel followed up with a Vine Whip, tying it up securely.
Maxie cursed. The arrival of these trainers had turned the tide, and now, Archie's troops were winning.
“Retreat!” He shouted, and ran off, recalling his pokemon in a flash. The rest of his men ran, following. A few Aqua Grunts gave chase, as Archie and Lance both headed to Red's side as fast as they could.

“Are you all right?” Lance asked tightly. He itched to use his power, but he did not want to show Archie all his aces yet.
Archie nodded to the other boy. These children, though their arrival was unexpected, had been timely, and now both the machine and meteorite were missing. Most excellent work…
Red winced. “I can't feel my arm.”
“I'll get you to the hospital immediately.”
Archie felt that it would be terribly rude to detain them, considering the danger the black-haired one was in, so he waved them off.
How interesting though…
Why had they sided with his Team?
Perhaps they had been unaware of it. In any case, he could ponder it later.

Lance and Red dropped out of sight, and Lance kissed him almost breathlessly, as his fingers touched ruined skin. “Red…”
Red blushed as his treacherous body began making its demands known. “L-Lance… we shouldn't…”
“Shh.”
Red shook his head, felt his skin closing up and the pain vanish in moments. Lance's Viridian Power had proved it's worth again. “I know you want this,” The Dragon Master continued. “Right?”
“Of course.”

It did not matter, really, titles and names all cast aside as Lance sank down upon him. He whimpered, it had been so long, and even earlier, during their relaxation period, Lance had been almost reluctant to touch him.
Tainted.
Oh, he knew his Dragon Master was tainted, but he didn't care. He didn't care when being with Lance made him feel so good, so alive. Didn't care because when they were strong enough, he'd kill all the bastards who had hurt his precious, precious dragon.
He would.
For now, he relaxed, and let Lance make him happy.
Lance kissed him again as they finished, and cuddled him close. Red closed his eyes. Peaceful…
It was nice.

Yes, Red has serious mental problems. So does Lance. Aren't they a happy couple! This fanfic assumes they were in a relationship already, so I'm not doing any first-time stuff. ^_~
