Chapter 6

“I want to kiss you.”
Red screamed and jolted out of bed. Lance blinked at him sleepily, already reaching for his hidden weapons. “What is it?”
“N-Nightmare.” Red croaked, shivering.
That caught Lance's attention. He turned on the light, padded to the kitchenette, and returned moments later with a mug of hot white chocolate. “Drink this and tell me if anything happens.”
Red obediently sipped the steaming drink, sighing.
“What was it?”
Red grimaced. “Yellow.” He said shortly. “She…”
“Has a crush the size of Mount Silver on you?”
“Yes! How did you know?”
“They give you the most atrocious reading material in prison, but I suppose it counts as a form of psychological torture. Lots of fan magazines mentioned it.”
“Oh…”
“I'm not jealous, if that's what you were wondering.”
Red smiled crookedly. “I know.” He took another sip. “Say Lance, where did you get white chocolate?”
“My secret!”
“You shouldn't sound so chirpy! It's scary.”
“Is it?” Lance lowered his voice coyly. “Do I frighten you, my Champion?”
“Only a little.”
The Dragon Master raised his eyebrows as Red finished the hot chocolate and set the mug down. A moment later, he pounced.

Lance laughed as he fell onto the bed with Red straddling his hips. “So eager tonight, my dear Champion?”
“I need something to take my mind off that nightmare.”
“Ahh.”
“You'll not begrudge me this, will you?”
“Of course not, Champion…”

The morning after, Archie summoned both to his office and showed them his schematics. They had located Kyogre, and now, they waited at the entrance of the Sea Cave, waiting…
If the plan succeeded, Archie and Kyogre would appear. Nevertheless, their task at hand was not to worry about their Leader's health, but to guard the cave in case Team Magma showed up. Then, they would bar them from interfering.
They had no doubt that Maxie had spies in Team Aqua, and sure, soon though, they saw the helicopter approach, its blades whirring.
Lance laughed as he and Red released their pokémon. His two Hakuryuu twisted through the air and one quick bolt of lightning downed the helicopter and all those within its metal body.
Red felt a momentary twinge of regret for lives lost, but banished it swiftly.
For the greater good, a few eggs could be broken, and a few lives lost.

It was not long afterwards when it started to rain. Lance shrugged and recalled his pretty powerful dragons, as he pulled an umbrella out of his backpack and held it over both of them.
“Well?” He grinned.
Red nodded. “That's thinking ahead.”
They watched as Kyogre took to the skies, with a triumphant Archie riding on his back, and the rain began to fall… and fall…
“Should we go inside for shelter?”
“Are you cold?”
“A little,” Red confessed. Lance unfastened the cords of his cloak - white this time, and draped it around Red's shoulders.
“I think now would be a good time to call them, don't you?”
“I'll get on it right away.”

Lorelei and Agatha were surprised, but they materialized moments later, and regarded the rest of their team.
“So you allied with Team Aqua.” Agatha nodded. “It was a wise move.”
“After Houen floods, we will bring Kyogre to Johto and then Kanto.”
“Excellent tactic.”
Lorelei ruffled Red's hair. “So you remembered?”
“Mmhmm.”
“Are your wrists all right?”
“No problem! I mean to say that you didn't hurt me that badly, Lorelei!”
The ice trainer raised a single eyebrow as Red flushed.
“All right, it was pretty bad, but they healed in Mount Silver.”
“I'm glad of that, Red.”

Agatha had stayed silent through most of the conversation, and she finally broke in. “Red? What are you going to do before Kyogre goes to Kanto?”
Red blinked.
“Surely there is someone you want to save.” She elaborated.
“Oh! Well… I'll save Green and Blue definitely. I'm not sure about Yellow yet.”
“Yellow is a potential loose cannon.” Lance nodded. “Especially paired with your Pikachu, Red. It would be ill to forget that.”
Red sighed. “Yes, I know Lance. I'm the Leader after all.”
The Dragon Master ducked his head in swift assent.

Lorelei raised her eyebrows, but decided not to comment on the relationship between the two highest-ranked Elite. “How long will it take to flood?”
Agatha laughed. “Not long. We had better head for Kanto now.”
“I appreciate your advice and I will follow it.” Red grinned. “Shall we?”
Lance nodded, as he stood behind Red, a faint smile touching his lips. “Let's.”
Agatha concentrated, and the four teleported away.

Green and Blue both resisted at first, but Agatha reached into their minds and cast Hypnosis. They fell asleep quickly. Red added most of the gym leaders to the list, trusting his instincts.
It would be useful to have competent allies after everything ended.
Besides while they were asleep, Agatha could alter their minds… well, Sabrina would have to be restrained, but Karen was more than ready to help her Grandmother batter down the psychic gym leader's defenses.
Dark beat psychic after all!

Soon, the world would wake, and find that a new world had converged…
Wasn't that wonderful.

“And now,” Lorelei grinned at the rest of the Elite Four as they sat in the highest floor of Silph's building, watching. “The world will fall.”
“Is it really safe to be here, with Kyogre flooding everything?” Red asked, pouring himself a glass from the President's private bar.
Agatha blinked. “Kyogre has already returned to Houen, Red… the water has flooded up to the fourth floor, but the structure is strong.”
“So it will hold until Groudon wakes. That will not take long, and the earthquakes…”
“Exactly.”
“So be it.” Red grinned.
