Thanks to all of you who reviewed. I'm sorry, but Ash is not getting much coverage in the early chapters. Also, remember that this is the anime Ash, and if you've read one of my other fics, you know I don't like him at all; I like all of the 4 manga Ashes better. Red is Ash! They just changed the name to Red in English. `Sides, I like Red better. Sorry for those of you who liked Ash, read my other fanfics to see him in action.
Yellow will not be in this fic because I don't' like her…. if you read `Dragon's Love' you know why.

Chapter 2: Hydro Power! Match on the water field!

“Hi, I'm here to register for the Indigo League Tournament.” Red told the pretty girl who was manning the booth.
“Please give me your pokédex. I need it for registration.”
Red handed over his pokédex. Suddenly, Misty and Brock both had a sudden thought. What if Red's pokédex wouldn't work because he was from another dimension? That would suck…
*BEEP*
“Are you Red of Pallet Town?” The registrar asked.
“That's me!” Red said cheerfully.
“Red! You're supposed to be posing as Ash, remember?” Misty hissed.
Red blinked. “Oh. Okay, let me reverse that. Poli, I choose you! Hypnosis!” Poliwrath's eyes glowed and the registrar glazed over. Red quickly swapped for Ash's pokédex and in a few seconds was registered as Ash Ketchum.
“I'll just say that Red's a nickname.” Red said. * Ugh. This makes me nauseous, having to pose as such a novice, but oh well… *

“Your first match is at the Water field. Two-thirty. Don't be late!”
Red smiled. “I won't be! Let's see, we still have some time…”
The three sat down in a café.
“But on the water field, don't you have to use water pokemon? Are you sure you can do it?” Misty asked. * I mean, what other pokemon does he have? *
“I have Poli, Gyra, and some others. I'll be fine.” Red said with a smile.
Misty nodded. * Sigh. Poliwag is such as cute pokemon… *
“Good luck!” Brock said. * He may not be Ash, but he has the same streak. *

“Hey Ashy-boy!” A rude voice interrupted. “You're very lucky, you know! I'm not competing against you in the first round! Otherwise, you would have lost already!”
Red growled. “Blue…”
“So, see ya later! I have to go prepare for my own battle!” Gary said getting up and leaving, flanked by his cheerleaders.

“Blue?” Misty asked.
“My rival.” Red said. “I guess this is his counterpart.” * Blue's not this rude or stuck-up… *
“Oh.” They were leaving, when Misty noticed something. “Say, Red, how many pokemon do you have with you? Moltres wasn't sent away.”
Red shrugged and opened the badge-like clasp on his belt, revealing that it was actually a flat box filled with tiny poke balls. “I'm the Indigo League Champion, so I can carry all of my pokemon with me. Professor Oak designed this.” He also opened his backpack and revealed more poke balls sitting inside.
“Red, Ash's pokemon are Pidgeotto, Bulbasaur, Charizard, Squirtle, and Pikachu. You're playing him, so… oh, and he has Muk, Krabby, and Tauros at Oak's.”
“Great.” Red muttered. “I'll try my best… would Professor Oak accept the explanation that I caught one pokemon?”
“Yes.”
“Good. Now to pick just one…” Red sighed as he rifled through his poke balls. “Eevee? No, too rare. Fearow? That might work, but Ash already has a Pidgeotto. Can't use Poli either. Maybe I could pass Venus off as a Bulbasaur, persuade him that it evolved… I guess Johto pokemon won't work, hmm…”

After about ten minutes though, the bell rang, so Red dashed for the locker room, Pika perched on his head.

Indigo Stadium…
“The third match on the water field now begins!” The announcer cried. “The red trainer is the astounding Mandy! The green trainer is Ash Ketchum! This match will now begin!”
“Gyra, I choose you!” Red said, throwing out his Gyrados. The crowd oohed and aahed.
“Go, Exeggutor!” Mandy said, releasing his pokemon. “Psywave!”
“Gyra, Dragon Rage!” Red said, not bothering to waste any time. Gyra smiled at his trainer, before throwing off the cyclone of energy at the Exeggutor, who staggered and fell into the water.
“Psychic!” Mandy commanded.
Gyrados shuddered as it was hit by the attack. Red quickly thought of a plan.
“Bite! And then if you can, use Rage!” This time, Gyrados simply shot over to the Exeggutor and chomped on its head, before attacking with Rage. The Exeggutor went swirly-eyed and fell over.
“Exeggutor is unable to battle!” The referee called. “Ash wins the first match!”

“Then I'll use this next!” Mandy said, throwing out another poke ball. A Seadra materialized in the water.
“Swift!” Mandy commanded.
The Seadra charged at Gyrados, who didn't move. Red drew a circle in the air with his arms and Gyra nodded.
So as soon as the Seadra was about to hit it, Gyrados moved his body into a hoop, so the Seadra merely went through and crashed into the wall.
“Thunderbolt now!” Red commanded. The lightning crashed into the stunned Seadra, fainting it.
“Ash wins the second match!” The referee called. The people in the stadium cheered. “Can Mandy actually win?”
Mandy pulled out his last poke ball and enlarged it. “I saved the best for last! Can your Gyrados actually beat this?”
From the floating poke ball came a Golbat.

Red didn't even flinch. “Gyra, Twister and then follow up with Summon Storm!” Gyrados nodded, a whirlwind of energy sucked the golbat inside before several bolts of electricity came from the sky and nailed it.
“Mandy is unable to battle! This round goes to Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town!” The announcer said.
Red jumped out of the box and ran down to hug Gyrados. “You're the best, Gyra!” He shouted.
Gyra grinned happily, showing his sharp fangs.
That was really cool! Pika added
Thanks, Pika! I won! Gyrados said as it did a few loop-de-loops to celebrate.
You were great! As good as if you were battling the Elite Four already!
Gyrados stretched and yawned. It was nothing, really.
Misty and Brock ran over to Red.

“That was amazing, Ash!” Brock said. “How did you do it?”
“Well, its just experience.” Red said modestly.
“Your Gyrados is smiling!” Misty said in amazement. “But I thought Gyrados were renowned for their terrible tempers!”
“Well, Gyra is really nice.” Red said, perched on top of Gyrados's head. Reporters were snapping pictures and the TV crew was recording.

“How'd the twerp get a Gyrados?” Meowth asked fearfully.
“I don't' know. Is the twerp really that good?” James asked.
“Of course he is! That's why we're going to steal his pokemon!” Jessie said as she malleted the other two over the head. “Let's get going!”
The trio ran off to plan.

End part 3

Ash: Shadow, I can't believe you're writing about someone else! *Bursts into tears*

Shadow: *Pats Ash on the back* But Ash, Red is you. At least he is in the manga in
certain languages (I have all the manga in Chinese)… they just call him Red instead of Ash in the Pokemon Adventure manga in English. Besides, I like you in the manga a lot better than in the anime. And why do you think I give you a better personality and stuff in my ficcies anyways?

Ash: Okay, but why haven't you wrote about Ash yet, only Red?
Shadow: Because Ash doesn't have anything to do right now…

Ash: *Sighs morosely*

Shadow: I keep telling you, they're the SAME PERSON!

Ash: I hope that's true… *Rubs Destiny's amulet*

Shadow quickly dashes off. “C&CC accepted, reviews please!”
