Pokemon Fan Fiction ❯ Never Know ❯ Chapter 4

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
I know there are probably contradictions in my fanfic, but I’m trying my best here with limited eyesight and time. I’ve decided to help by writing some of my fics on paper b4 typing them up, but then I found it really didn’t save time at all… Disclaimer/Notes: See previous chapter Chapter 4               There was a cocoon of flames in her chamber.             Moltres swooped inside, returning to human form. It was more comfortable at times, she had to admit. Fiery red hair fell to her shoulders and she was dressed in a short yellow-orange dress, the color of leaping flames. “Time to wake, Chosen.”              The cocoon split open. Blue eyes met red as the girl smiled.             “It is time already? I did not know so much time had passed…”              “You’ve been in hibernation sleep for two years.”           & nbsp; “Ah… I lost track of time.” The girl stretched. She was dressed simply, in black slacks and a white shirt. The only discriminating ornament was a black badge with white eclipses running through it and a faint gold sparkle in the center. The Solar System badge…           &n bsp; Charlotte had created the Cosmos gym system. Before she had been there, there had been only a few small towns. She had employed one of Oak’s assistants, a girl named Professor Holly, to set up a lab and give out pokedexes to young trainers.             ; Then, she had set up the gyms.             Amy – Mercury badge, Ice pokemon             Mina – Venus badge, Normal pokemon             Rachel – Mars badge, Fire pokemon             Thomas – Gaia badge, Random earth-based pokemon             Kamen – Jupiter Badge, Grass and electric             Hester – Saturn Badge, Normal pokemon             Alex – Uranus Badge, flying and ground pokemon             Michelle – Neptune Badge, water pokemon             Selena – Pluto badge, ghost/psychic pokemon             After that, well, she had given the leaders a few months to settle in before challenging them all.             Thus, it hadn’t really been much of a contest, per se.             Well, that was in the past.             Ready?           & nbsp; “Ready, Moltres-san.”                Articuno yawned. < Chosen. >             “You called?” Gold eyes lit up. “What do you desire of me?”           &nbs p; < So eager for blood, Lance? >             < What can I say? I live for it. > Lance smirked. The former girl stood up, as ice-blue robes fell in a flurry of sparkles around him.             Articuno laughed. < I know. >             < Shall we? >             The two spread their wings and flew…            &n bsp;  “Ow...”          & nbsp;  < You all right, little brother? >             Ash stood on shaky talons. < H-hai… >             < The first transformation takes a lot out of you. > Zapdos remarked cordially.           &nbs p; Ash nodded, looking down at his body. He had the upper body of a human, down to his waist, with gold armor on his chest and arms. His legs disappeared into tufts of black feathers ending in wickedly sharp talons. He had two pairs of razor sharp wings, one tawny gold and the other jet black. He still had his poke belt on; only the poke balls had all turned gold and black.             Interesting…          &n bsp;  “Black already?”            ;  < Yes, it seems so… you’ve had a rather harsh life. You do know the story of why you have black feathers, right? >             “Not really…”              < Then I’ll explain it to you. It is quite simple. The deeper the color of your feathers, the less hope for human and pokemon coexistence. >             “So I’m some sort of emotional barometer?”          &nb sp;  < Yes. >             “What about the gold?”           &n bsp; < That’s the interesting part. Gold represents hope… >             “But Hope? Isn’t that my second form?”           &n bsp; < Yes. I meant hope as in the emotion. >             “I think I see…” Ash said hesitantly.           &nb sp; < Good. Prepare yourself. The others will be arriving shortly. >             ‘Huh?”          &n bsp;  Ash might have been slapped with some powers, but he was still a kid… unlike the other two.             &nb sp; Charlotte was 21, Lance 16.             Ash himself was only twelve, going on thirteen, but he would learn… the others would guide him. At least, that was what Serebii planned.             However, well-laid plans rarely go well… things tend to pop out of order and even the best-laid paths can be astray…           & nbsp; That wasn’t the point however.             Serebii was simply too busy to see how the guardians had turned out. A grave mistake that would later cause to be…             ; But for now, nothing was wrong.             & nbsp; “We’re here.”           &n bsp; Charlotte and Lance nodded politely to each other, quietly. They weren’t close, in fact they hardly knew each other, but they were both guardians so the mutual respect was there. Lance folded his icy wings calmly against his back.             Ash stared. “Sugoi…”              ‘Hmm?”          &n bsp;  “Are you wings real fire?”           &n bsp; Charlotte nodded… “Well, yes. Moltres’s Chosen and all that.”           &n bsp; “COOL!”          & nbsp;  Lance was not really paying much attention. His eyes were closed as he stood next to Articuno, waiting for their commands.             ; Did they have to kill?             He could deal with that easily enough…           & nbsp; But for now, he waited.   End Chapter Completed 1/6/05 Despite my eyes, I will try to keep writing! *nods* Lance: Well, good luck you’ll need it Phantomness: Hai!             &nb sp;             &nbs p;              &nbs p;
