Prince of Mind Chapter 5:
Rating: still for everyone to see ^^

Eiji sighed, again. He was doing that way too much lately.
To say he was worried would be the understatement of the year.
They hadn't found Fujiko, nor any trace of him.
He knew his best friend wouldn't let him worry like this, that wasn't his style.
When Fuji pulled a prank, he would always be around to see the results.
He's make it so that everyone figured it would be him, but could never prove anything.
This morning he had went by Fuji's house to check if his best friend had returned, but no such luck.
Now he was staring at the empty seat next to his, not paying attention at all.
Though the last part wasn't that unusual, he now didn't have any hope of copying Fuji's notes later.
A vein popped in his sensei's head when Eiji sighed loudly again.
“KIKUMARU!”
Eiji jumped.
“H-hai!”
“Pay attention for once! Fuji-kun isn't here to save your ass before the test, you know!”
Eiji mumbled a soft “gomen...” and sat down again, face down.
His sensei sighed.
Why did he always feel guilty after scolding Kikumaru?
He walked to the back of the classroom and patted the boy on the back.
“Just pay attention from now on, okay?” he said, smiling kindly.
Then the worst thing imaginable happened to the poor teacher.
Kikumaru sniffed... notifying the class that he was crying silently.
Immediately his fans raged.
“SENSEI! How could you?!”
“You made him cry!”
“You meanie!”
The poor man sighed, feeling lost.
“Alright! Alright!” he tried desperately to calm the students down.
“SILENCE!”
finally... quiet.
“Everybody, return to your seats. Kikumaru-kun, I apologize for anything I might have said out of line. Are you okay now?”
Eiji looked up, still teary eyed, but smiling assuringly none the less.
“H-hai. Daijoubu desu. It was not your fault, sensei. I'm just...”
The teacher smiled.
“Why don't you go refresh yourself and try to calm down, while we continue.”
Eiji smiled softly.
“Hai! Arigatou, sensei!”

Eiji looked at his reflection in the mirror with distaste.
He looked like hell.
That was not the bouncy, happy-go-lucky Nekomaru Eiji everyone knew.
Suddenly he felt angry, at himself for worrying so much, and at Fuji for disappearing like that.
`If this is his idea of a joke, he's got a lousy sense of humour nya!' he thought.
“Kikumaru Eiji-kun?”
Eiji startled.
“Hai…?” he studied the Young man now standing behind trough the mirror.
He wasn't a student, he looked too old for that.
But maybe that was because the guy had white hair.
Though he couldn't be older than twenty for sure!
“The name is Kain. Would you please follow me.”
It wasn't a question, just a command hidden within formalities.
If you don't mind me asking, Kain-san, but what for and where to?” Eiji asked just as formal.
He didn't feel comfortable around the guy for some weird reason.
“To see your friend.” The man smiled mysteriously.
“Friend…? Eh?! Fujiko!? Do you know where he is?”
Kain's eyes voice darkened and his smile became downright evil.
“Yes, and I'll bring you to him, because you want to see him.”
Those last words sounded strangely off and like and like an order.
Eiji suddenly felt a bit dizzy. His smile faded and his eyes lost all signs of life.
“Yes,… I want to see Fujiko-chan…”
Kain smiled normally again.
“Then follow me”
“Hai…”
Obediently Eiji followed Kain out of the restroom and trough some halls.
As he turned a corner, someone bumped into them. Oishi…
“Ah, sumimasen! I wasn't paying attention.” Oishi apologized.
Then he noticed Eiji, without his usual smile.
“Eiji? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in class?”
“Kain-san will bring me to Fujiko, nya.” Eiji said, picking up his usual behaviour, though his eyes still held no life. Kain cursed softly.
“Fuji?” Oishi turned to look at the man called Kain, only to find him gone.
Eiji suddenly groaned, grabbing his head.
“Eiji! Are you alright, Eiji?” Oishi called out worriedly.
“Mou, Oishi shouldn't yell, nya!” Eiji said.
Then suddenly he seemed to hit reality.
“Arre? How did I get here and where did Oishi come from, nya?”
Now Oishi was getting seriously worried (AN: even more than usual that is ^^).
“Don't you remember, Eiji? You were following this guy called Kain, saying he would bring you to Fuji.”
“Eh?! Where is he? Does he know where Fujiko-chan is?”
Oishi sweatdropped, leave it to Eiji to forget stuff that easily.
“Nya, Oishi… Do you know where he is now?” Eiji asked softly.
Oishi shook his, but at the sight of the depressed look on Eiji's face, he quickly added:
“But, I'm sure we'll find him if we go search for him! We can even go to the police if you want!”
Eiji nodded and smiled, but it was forced.
Right then, Oishi decided he would do everything in his power to help find Fuji. He wanted the usual bouncy Eiji back!
Even though he often felt jealous of the attention Fuji got from Eiji, most of all he wanted his doubles partner to be happy.
If a sadistic tensai was needed for that, then so be it.

AN: something got messed up the last time I updated, cause chapter 4 dissapeared and chapter 5 appeared in it's place. I apologize.
I've updated my previous chapters as well, rechecking the spelling and grammar ^^
Once my teachers stop being such sadists, I'll be able to update chapter 6 ^^ YAY
Thanks for all the reviews so far :) you guys are awesome ^^
