Important: This fic was inspired by a novel written by Diane Duane. The book is called "High Wizardry," and deals with entropic and temporal aspects of the universe. The theory in the book is that if you stop entropy, you stop the flow of time. I am going to quote from page 215 from the 1990 hardcover edition of High Wizardry:

 

"That stopped her for a second. It seemed so obvious. Stop entropy, and the flow of time stopped. And where was life then?"

 

That's the theme that runs throughout this story. The theory that I'm going by, "stopped life," means that everything is frozen. Nothing is happening. No molecular bonds are being destroyed.

 

Also, according to Diane Duane, entropy is also defined as "the running down of the universe." Stop that and you stop the temporal aspect of the universe. Notice that I use the term "stop," and not "remove." Removing entropy would indeed destroy molecular bonds and existence in and of itself would almost certainly disappear.

 

So, I think that my theory and theme are sound, if controversial to other theories.

A computer screen glowed brightly, the only source of light in an otherwise un-illuminated room light-years away from the planet Earth. A hand, human in all aspects but for its blue pallor, clicked a file icon named “Ichisaigosuki, Kimi.” All of the technology in the room looked like humans made it and K'crieelns had smuggled it to Erohn, but it was actually the other way around. Undercover operatives who had their skin pigmented to match the varying shades that humans came in were the scientists who “created” all Earth technology.

 

A page that was reminiscent of a criminal record sheet appeared on the computer screen, covering the other five windows that were up. The Crieelns, the daughter of the Emperor of Erohn, was named Grankusul. She brought up the other five windows and read them quickly. None of the five windows that she read had much text.

Name: Karu

Alibi: none

Personality: Arrogant, self-assured and confident in his abilities.

 

Strength(s): Confident; self-assured; physical strength; stamina; fast learner; moves swiftly; strategically intelligent; very good at hiding any kind of weaknesses except those for food.

 

Weakness(es): pocky; chocolate; junk food; etc…

 

Note(s): Prone to physical violence, Karu is able to adequately defend himself against humans. He is not aware of who he once was, thinking of his previous life as his “anime character.” He is much like his friend Kimi*, except that he is better able to control his temper.

 

* Kimi's file is classified. For more information on her, you must have the highest security clearance.

Grankusul opened the next window.

Name: Linda D. Cupcake (it was here that the Princess snorted, wondering why a male was given the name that meant “beautiful woman” in Spanish)

[Here, as in Karu's file, was a picture of Linda in his human form, running away from somebody (probably Karu). Next to this photo was a picture of him in his true form.]

 

Personality: Easily annoyed, he is loyal to his friends even though he is constantly teased by them about the name given to him by Midori*.

 

Strength(s): able to move swiftly; stamina; academically intelligent; is able to take on the mantle of leadership if his friends or the group he is in needs somebody to get them organized.

 

Weakness(es): paranoid because of Karu; loyal to those he sees as friends; emotional; stressed.

 

Note(s): He is usually disregarded as being weak or unimportant, but when he looses his temper he is a force to be reckoned with.

Strength(s): rarely sad or depressed; stubborn; has a magical bubble that acts as both weapon and shield to her and is not penetrable by any known technology; hiding any emotional weaknesses

Note(s): Tsuki is the one that makes her friends laugh, and she is related to Midori through randomness

The Crieelns opened the fourth window.

Note(s): Her fairy ancestors are most likely concealing information about Yukiko.

Grankusul clicked on the fifth window, her hands starting to sweat. She wiped her palms across her pants, made of imported cotton from Earth.

Personality: varies from hyperactive to depressed and suicidal

 

Strength(s): speed; stamina; projectiles of all kinds; cooking; is walking therapy

 

Weakness(es): lack of physical strength unenhanced by ki; mentally unstable when sad; prone to depression

 

Note(s): Liable to be on a sugar high at any given time, Midori tends to take on the role of ringleader in her group*, but is prone to depression.

Slowly, Grankusul clicked on the sixth and final window. It had taken her years to gain the clearance necessary to view the only classified file regarding a being on Earth. The being wore the body of a human, as did the previous five beings, but apparently the final member of Potpourri (that was what these six beings from Earth called themselves) was unique.

Name: Kimi Ichisaigosuki

Alibi: Mary Westacott

Personality: Violent, headstrong, and prone to both physical and vocal violence when angered. She hides the gentle, caring side of her personality under a gruff and ill-tempered façade.

 

Strength(s): overactive imagination; stamina; has discovered who she was in her previous life before her premature death; extremely stubborn; rarely discouraged; academically, strategically, and practically intelligent; knows basic, non-medical first aid for both humans and demons; physical strength; skilled in all martial arts, including those dealing with ki; learned to ignore both physical and mental pain at a very young age; highly flexible; dexterous; able to move swiftly; good with both written and vocal languages; believes what many consider fictional or impossible; mistrustful of those anonymous or new to her; does not accept defeat; willingly houses the Goddess of Hell in her soul.

 

Weakness(es): fiercely loyal to those she trusts; emotional; unable to revert back to her true form; emotionally insecure and unstable; lacks self-confidence; extremely short temper; paranoid; has a four to seven year sleep deficit; prideful; unable to control the BloodLust when it overpowers her; has accumulated depression; was suicidal at eleven; doesn't want to remember what life was like without friends.

 

Potential: likely to excel in all that she tries her skills at; almost guaranteed to eventually return to her true form

 

Threatens: our universal conquest

 

Note(s): We thought that the danger Kimi posed to us and our ultimate goal was over when she was sealed away after a premature death, and believed that she would never regain her memories, should she ever come back. We were fools. When four hundred eighty-eight years had passed since her death, she was reincarnated. Immediate surveillance was initiated, and our watch over her is constant. But then her memories started returning. Her body was twelve years old, but her soul was five centuries. She always did show an unnatural maturity in both academics and her behaviour; traits that were strikingly obvious when she was surrounded by humans. She is now fourteen or five hundred and two. Whichever age you prefer. We shall conquer the universe, though. Our first step is simple: stop entropy throughout the universe, with the single exclusion of our galaxy.

That was when a shot rang out, and Grankusul keeled over, navy blue blood and red brain matter splattered on the computer screen. Nobody except those who were planning the universal conquest could read that particular file and live. Royal blood was no excuse.

 

Miles away, in a different city, a spell was activated, and it swept over the universe. The K'crieelns had stopped entropy.
