Will it Work?
Why did Phil end up so tongue-tied around her? He had never been
good with women. So many missed connections in his love life.
However, this one was different. Yori was the one to come to him.
Usually, his friends pushed the boy to make the first move. Not
this time.
She could've picked any guy she wanted. And she chose Phil. He
couldn't believe it. What made him so special? It felt like a
dream. Sometimes, he felt like it was.
Did Yori really love him? That was hard to say. She still carried a
torch for Shojiro. But he already moved on. She couldn't accept it
at first. Yori tried to win him back, but lost. So now what? Make
her ex jealous, of course.
It would be no trouble. Yori was an attractive girl. Some found her
cute. She could easily get a man. The campus had plenty of
good-looking ones around. She just needed to find the first
good-looking guy that caught her attention and she was set to
go.
In fact, Yori made the first move. They were in the cafeteria when
they first met.
“Hello there,” she said. Phil looked up. Where did this angel come
from? Her pretty face made her heart pound against his chest.
“Um… Uh… Uh… Uh… H-H-H-Hi!” the boy spat out. Yori flashed him a
flirty smile. Oh yeah, he would do just fine.
“Mind if I sit down?” she asked.
“S-S-S-Sure!” Phil blurted out.
“Aw, thank you!” she said. Yori sat down next to him. Phil started
sweating bullets. This was happening. This was really happening. He
pinched himself on the cheek. No, this was real. Wow! She held out
her hand.
“I'm Yori,” she said.
“P-P-P-Phil!” he stammered out.
“Well nice to meet you, P-P-P-Phil,” Yori said. “Are you busy
tonight?” His face turned red as he shook his head. Yori
giggled.
“Let's meet up at the student pub. How does that sound?” she
offered. Phil's face turned bright red. Was this real? Was this
really happening?
“S-S-S-Sure!” he blurted out. He paused at how that came out. Yori
giggled.
“Great,” she said. She reached into her purse and pulled out a
notepad. She jotted down something quickly. The girl pulled out a
page and handed it over to Phil.
“Here you are,” she said. “This is my number. May I have
yours?”
“Uh… Sure!” Phil said. He pulled out his phone and plugged in her
number. The boy gave her a call. Yori answered with a smile on her
face.
“Hello there,” she said. Phil gulped as he moved his mouth. He hung
up the phone. She had his number now.
“See you at six?” Yori asked.
“Sure,” Phil said with a dazed look. She smiled and playfully
tapped him on the nose.
“See ya,” Yori said. She got up and walked away. Phil stared at her
back with big eyes. His cheeks turned red.
Will this be love? Or was there something sinister at play? Will
they last? Is their love doomed or can it blossom into something
real? We will have to see.
Is This Love?
