How to Paint in Blood

It's an easy thing to paint in blood -
It requires so little:
Just pick up a sword,
Become an artist.
You never need to wait for inspiration,
Never need to entertain a Muse,
Just paint the pictures people want to see.
And there will be many.
But at least your palette's never dry,
And the money isn't bad...
If you're talented.
You need at least a little talent
To sell a masterpiece or two
To make an opus.
And never question where that gift came from.
Best not to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Just paint the pictures.
Oh, and be sure to silence any little voices
In your head
Or at your shoulder,
Because once they're quiet
You can get back to painting..
