A New Land --
Prologue --
We're moving?!



Usagi sighed, looking at her mother. "Are you crazy?
How can we go halfway around the world with just a
moment's notice? Does Father really expect me to pack
up and leave without even telling my friends?!"

Ikuko sighed. "Usagi, I know you don't like this,
but there's nothing that can be done. Your
father got a promotion and he's being sent to
America... We *have* to go; we're his family! We
can't let him go alone, to a strange country."

"But, Mama--"

"No," Ikuko said soflty. "Usagi, I don't want
to hear it anymore. We're leaving tomorrow morning. You'll
have enough time to say your goodbye's to your friends."

*But what about Mamo-chan?* Usagi thought desperately.

They had just defeated Galaxia a week ago, and her relationship
with Mamoru had only gotten stronger, especially after his
death. And now, her parents were asking her to go to America
to live?!

After her mother left the room, Usagi called Mamoru, desperately
needing his support. "What?!" Mamoru yelled in disbelief. "How
can they make you move... to America?"

"I-I don't know," she murmured, tears streaming down her face.
"It's not fair, Mamo-chan, I want to be here with you and
the Senshi! Especially... since I almost lost all of you so
recently."

He sighed. "I don't think there's anything we can do... Usako,
your parents don't even *know* about me! So how can we really
argue that we have to be together; that we're soul mates,
when they don't even know you've got a boyfriend?"

"I..." she said hesitantly.

"Usagi, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that..."

"So what do we do?" She paused. "Mamo-chan, I *can't* go to
America! I-I'm needed here!"

"Usako, do what you have to do," he said softly. "You know I'll
always be here for you, and I'll always love you. We'll have
letters, e-mail, phone calls..."

"But it won't be the same!!" she cried desperately. "I won't
be able to touch you, kiss you... or even see you! And... those
phone calls, do you have any idea how far between and rare
they would be?! Mamo-chan, I can't do it! I can't leave you."

"Usako," he said firmly. "Do it. You can't go against your
family. You can't. I'll... I'll try to study in America, like
I was planning on... Before Galaxia. Would you like that? We
could be together... In America."

She paused, thinking it over. "Yes, Mamo-chan, I would like
that. But... what about the Senshi?"

"Maybe they could do a Sailor Teleport every so often?"

"No," she murmured. "It doesn't work without all of us.
But... I could use the Ginzuishou to maybe teleport *us*
back to Japan so we could see them." She smiled slightly.

"Usako," he whispered.

"Yeah?"

"I... I don't want to lose you. I would follow you to the ends
of the Earth if I had to. I'll meet you in America, my love."

She smiled. "In America."
