Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ My Mina ❯ Chapter 3

[ A - All Readers ]
Happy Thanksgiving to all this year! This is story #43, and it is the
conclusion to the trilogy starring Mina and Kunzite. The first two
stories are “Little Mina” and “He Kissed Me!” Make sure you read
those two first before you start on this one!

The picture which inspired me is from Caper Blossom, and her works
are from the site Generals Love. I’ve written other stories based on
some of her works, and they are all dedicated to her like this story
as well. When you see this *, I am describing the picture in a scene.

Rated G and entertainment only. Takeuchi owns Sailor Moon, not me!
Enjoy reading!

Dedicated to Caper Blossom! That picture is very pretty!

MY MINA
By Sailor DKC

Kunzite sat on his bed in his room, staring at an old
photo of him and Mina before he left three years ago. Smiling, he
gazed at the little princess clinging tightly on his arm, giving a
big smile on her face to the camera. ‘Such an adorable face,’ he
thought, then looked at himself in the picture, observing his posture
of crossed arms across his chest and his small smile to the camera.
Chucking to himself, he said, “I sure was so serious-looking that
time. I’ve changed a lot since then.”
Sighing, he laid back on his bed, placing the photo on his
chest. “And so has Mina.” Sucking in a huge breath, he slapped his
hands against his temples. “By the freezing winds of the North Pole,
I can’t believe I kissed her! In front of everyone!” He recalled her
widening eyes as he bent forward to place his lips on hers. She
looked as if she longed for him to kiss her. And what’s even more
surprising to him was that he wanted to keep kissing her even when
they broke apart!

Picking up the photo again, he stared at “Little Mina”.
Every “little” feature he saw in her made him remember how she looks
now. Her hair has gotten longer and fuller, her womanly figure so
firm and fit, and her lovely face, brightening into an ecstatic
appearance whenever she gazed at him. If she looked that striking as
Sailor Venus, then her princess appearance would be…’Just as
beautiful?’ Kunzite wondered.
There was a knock on his door. Sitting up, he called out,
“Who’s there?”
“It’s Nephrite and Jadeite,” the former replied.
After letting his friends in, they all sat on his large
couch. “Where’s Zoisite?” Kunzite asked, putting the photo in his
pocket.
“Oh, he just went to receive a message from the Moon,”
Jadeite replied, then waggled his eyebrows. “It could be from Sailor
Mercury!”
“Our Zoisite in love.” Nephrite shook his head, then
looked at Kunzite. “It seems to be spreading around.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Kunzite asked.
“Oh, come on!” laughed Jadeite. “You and Venus!”
“Or should we say “Little Mina”? teased Nephrite, smiling.
“Hey, she’s not little anymore!” Kunzite spoke, sternly.
His friends gave him an “Ah-hah!” look, and he turned red with
embarrassment.
“Well, you’re right about that, Kunzite.” Nephrite crossed
his legs and arms, smirking.
“Yeah,” Jadeite said, giving a wicked grin and leaning
back. “We didn’t think you noticed until we saw that liplock.”
Turning his back on them, Kunzite made a “hmmph” sound.
“It just, sort of, happened.”
Looking at each other and feeling a little guilty, the men
leaned forward. “Hey, come on, man, we didn’t mean to tease you.”
“Yeah, I guess it’s a shock to see that little girl
princess grow up to be a really pretty lady.”

There was silence for awhile. Then Nephrite spoke. “So
what are you going to do?”
Facing his friends again, Kunzite frowned. “About what?”
“About you and Mina?” Jadeite said.
Letting out a sigh, Kunzite got up and paced around the
room. “I don’t know. This totally changes everything between me and
her. Before I met her again, all I could think of was the sweet
little 13-year-old princess running to me through the hallways of the
Moon Palace. Her bubbliness, her cute chattering, and the twinkle in
her eye. I missed that.”
Stopping in mid-pace, he raised his arms in a helpless
gesture. “Now there’s a gorgeous 16-year-old who stands in her place.
I don’t know how to react around her. All I could think about was
kissing her. Even while she was demonstrating her powers before me at
that stadium, all I could think of was ‘I have to kiss her!’“

Whistling low, Jadeite slowly shook his head. “Whoa, you
got it bad.”
“You don’t think you’ll keep your mind on duty if you’re
around her?” Nephrite asked, leaning forward to rest his arms
against his knees.
Kunzite gave an unsure shrug. “I don’t know.” Then there
was another knock on the door.
It was Zoisite. “Hey, guys! I got some news from the Moon.
We’re invited to one of Queen Serenity’s balls. Mercury sent us the
invitations, and we are to be the escorts for the Sailor Princesses
of her daughter, Serenity.” Smiling confidently, he placed his hands
on his hips. “I know who I’ll be escorting.”
“And we certainly know who Kunzite will be escorting!”
Jadeite laughed out loud.
“So I guess you and Nephrite will be escorting Mars and
Jupiter,” Zoisite pointed out.
“Well, Mars seemed a little vain to me, but Jupiter looks
very attractive when she was fighting me at the stadium,” Nephrite
admitted.
“I don’t know. She seemed too tough to me, but that Mars
is definitely hot, and it’s not just her fire power.” Jadeite gave
another of his wicked grins.
As they all discussed over what they plan to do at the
ball, Kunzite couldn’t help but feel his heart beat go superspeed.
Him? An escort to Princess Mina? Little Mina? No, not Little Mina.
Grown-up, gorgeous, great figure, Princess Mina?
‘I don’t know if I’ll behave myself around her,’ he
thought, miserably.

The night of the ball arrived, and Mina was finishing up,
zipping up her princess gown. As she fixed up her hair and make-up at
her mirror, she thought, ‘Normally, I get excited when there are
parties, and tonight would be doubly exciting because Kunzite is
coming.’ Finished, she gazed at herself, sighing sadly. ‘But now, I
wonder if it’s just myself as Sailor Venus that finally got him to
notice me.’
Fiddling with her hair, she bit her lip. ‘Will he still
see me as “Little Mina”? Or will he give me the same affection when
he kissed me as a Senshi?’ Blushing, she remembered how he held her
close, his lips gently brushing against hers. Shivering in glee, she
felt goose bumps forming all over. Rubbing her shoulders, she gasped
out, “I do hope he sees me in both as a Senshi and a princess!”

A knock on her door sounded. Mina answered it, and Rei and
Mako entered her room, wearing their princess gowns and their hair
and make-up done so beautifully. “Oh, Mina, Mina!” Rei grasped her
hands tightly in eager anticipation. “Tonight’s the night! Your true
love is coming!”
Mako gave her a shoulder hug from behind. “Isn’t this
exciting? He sure noticed you a lot at the stadium. And that kiss!
Wow! That was so daring!”
“Yeah,” Mina said, unenthusiastically, as she walked over
to her couch and sat, dejectedly. Frowning in puzzlement, the girls
sat with her.
“What’s wrong,Mina?”
“I thought you would be excited about tonight.”
Shrugging, Mina replied, “I just don’t know. Sure I’m glad
that Kunzite finally noticed me, but only as Sailor Venus. What if he
sees me now and still thinks I’m ‘Little Mina’? I don’t know if I can
take it!”

“Oh, Mina!” Mako said, soothingly, and holding her
friend’s hand. “Don’t worry! You’ve changed so much these past three
years. You no longer get physically excited at the mere mention of
Kunzite’s name. In fact, you practically glow and are all smiles
whenever you talk about him.”
“And Kunzite’s changed too!” Rei chirped. “I mean, come
on! He hasn’t kept his eyes off you since your combat with him. And I
don’t think he was looking for any sign of weakness to beat you! Rest
assured, Mina, he won’t take his eyes off you tonight!”
“Yeah!” Mako jumped off the couch and pulled Mina to her
feet. “So let’s get going! We’re out to conquer hearts tonight!” She
started making poses. “No man will be able to resist us!”
Rei also joined in. Mina smiled at them, having fun, and
began to giggle. Then she joined in, making poses with her V-signal.
They all laughed and kept on posing until another knock sounded on
the door.

It was Ami, all dressed up in her gown, her hair and
make-up, also beautifully done up. “Hi, girls! We should get going.
The ball’s going to start very soon.”
As they all walked toward the ballroom, Mina spoke with
Ami while the others chatted and walked ahead. “Ami, you’ve been in
contact with Zoisite since the generals were last here, right?”
Blushing, Ami nodded. “Why, yes. We’ve kept in touch with
letters.”
“I wanted to ask you. When did you realize when Zoisite
noticed you? I mean, REALLY noticed you?”
Smiling shyly, Ami shrugged. “I guess when I turned 16,
and sent him a recent photo of me. Before then, his letters were full
of daily activities, his concerns and opinions of any topic we wrote
about. My letters were like that, too. We’ve become good friends over
these three years. But since he got my picture, his letters are
becoming more personal, and he’s saying that he now sees me as more
than a friend. The last letter he wrote had a recent picture of
himself.”
“Did you start thinking of him as more than a friend
then?”
“Well, I admit I was stunned at how much he changed, and
he is so handsome. But I wanted to make sure when I see him in
person, I would see if he is more than a friend.” She looked at Mina
and smiled more happily. “And I do.”
Sighing, Mina looked down at the floor. “You both kept in
touch for so long. Maybe that’s why you two hit it off so well back
at the stadium. Me? I’ve not been in touch with Kunzite until that
day. I fear he’s only attractive to me as Sailor Venus, and if he
sees me now, he’ll only see ‘Little Mina’.”
“Then it’s up to you to show him who you really are. Show
him how you feel about him truly, Mina,” Ami advised. “And you’ll see
how much he feels about you.”

At the ball, Mina took in consideration what Ami told her.
She sought Kunzite out and found him talking to some people. She
stood in his view a few feet away, and stared off in another
direction, hoping he’ll notice her. And he did. Because his heart
started thumping, rapidly. ‘A vision!’ he thought, as he stared at
her. Her hair was flowing about, her skin glowing, her princess gown
draping around her so waiflike and lovely, her eyes when they turned
to stare back at him were so captivatingly beautiful, and her lips,
as they formed a innocent smile, so…soft and inviting. ‘I want to
kiss her again!’
He was unaware that he walked right up to her. As she
stared back, he envisioned white, feathery wings asprouting from
behind her, and imaginary blowing wind, making her hair billow about.
‘An angel!’ he thought, dreamily.

* Reaching out, Kunzite placed his left hand on Mina’s shoulder. She
held onto his wrist with her right hand. Her wings fluttered up as
her hair bounced gently over his right shoulder while his cape
fluttered about as they both looked at each other. *

“Kunzite?”
Her voice broke his visionary spell. Clearing his throat,
he spoke, “Would you like to dance?”
Nodding silently, she placed her hand in his and gasped
lightly as he pulled her closer to him, and they set off onto the
dance floor. Listening to the enchanting music being played, they
stared at each other as they danced. Mina admired how strong he felt
with his arms around her. She gazed at his sharp yet gentle features
on his face. His eyes were penetrating and so gray. She then looked
at his mouth which parted slightly in a quiet release of breath.
‘Will he kiss me again?’ she thought.
Kunzite stared at her eyes, recognizing and admiring the
innocence she had when she was 13. And yet he saw more. He saw her
growing affection for him, and he explored her face with his eyes.
He could see how shapely pretty it had become from cuteness as a kid
to loveliness as a woman. Then he noticed her looking at his lips and
let out a silent gasp. She then suddenly absentmindedly licked her
own lips with her small pink tongue. Groaning softly, he bent his
head down to touch her lips with his.
“Wait,” she said, quietly, pulling back a little.
Startled, he also pulled back a little. “What is it?”
“Not here, please.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, he led her from the dance
floor towards the balcony doors.

Once outside, away from viewing eyes, Kunzite swept Mina
into his arms and kissed her passionately. Dipping her a little to
one side, he cradled her in his arms as his lips open and closed over
her mouth. In return, she held onto him, one hand holding on the back
of his neck as she opened and closed her mouth against his.
Breaking free, he whispered, “You are so beautiful,” and
kissed tenderly on her cheeks.
“Oh, Kunzite,” she whispered back as she kissed up his
chin, then his lips, then his nose, then back to his lips. “I have
wanted for you to hold me like this.”
Drunk from the kisses, he tipped her chin and caressed all
over her throat with his mouth. Breathing heavily, she gripped his
shoulders and managed to kiss all over one side of his face. Then he
turned his head and kissed her again. “I could kiss you like this
forever, my Little Mina.”

They both froze at the sound of the nickname. Slowly, they
pulled away from each other, straightening up. Then they looked at
each other, unsure of what to do.
“Do you still think of me as ‘Little Mina’?” Mina asked,
her mouth trembling.
Shaking his head, he raised his arms in a helpless
gesture. “I don’t know why I said that.”
“Well, I’m not little anymore!” she cried out, stamping
her foot. “I’ve grown up! Can’t you see that?”
Feeling horrible, he replied, ”I guess subconsciously
there’s a part of me who wished you hadn’t grown up. It was easy to
talk to you back then. But now…” He stopped and turned away, placing
a hand on his forehead and the other on his hip in exasperation. “I
can’t think straight when I’m around you. I just have to kiss you and
more!”
Mina blinked in confusion at the last word. “More?”
Looking back at her in disbelief, his eyes opened wide.
“Mina, you do know there is more between a man and a woman, besides
just kissing?”
“Well, yes, but what’s that got to do with-“ Stopping
abruptly, she opened her eyes wide. “Oh.” More realization sunk in.
“Ooohhh!”

A coy smile began to form slowly on her lips. “Is that how
you think of me now?” she asked, softly, as she drew circles on the
floor with the tip of her fancy shoe, her hands clasped behind her
behind her back. “As someone with a lot more-“
“Mina!” Kunzite held his hands to halt anymore words from
her. “Don’t! It’s hard enough for me as it is!”
Lowering her eyelashes a bit as she stared at him, she
made a small nibble on one side of her lower lip in a tempting way.
“Mina,” he begged, tiredly as he walked over to her and
held her in his arms again. “I want to do this so much, but I just
don’t want this.” He smelled in her rich, fragrant hair and held her
tighter. “I want us to be something together.”
Joy filled her heart when she heard this. ‘He sees me
differently now, and he wants to be more than just a friend,’ she
thought, as she held him closely. “Oh, Kunzite,” she whispered. “I so
longed for you to see me as more than just a princess and a Senshi.
It’s what I’ve been dreaming about since I was ‘Little Mina’!”

Pulling back to look at her, he smiled. “Oh, no, you’re
not ‘Little Mina’ anymore. Only in my past memories. Now you’re my
Mina.”
“‘My Mina’!” she squealed, softly. “I like the sound of
that!”
“Good, so you better get used to it,” he murmured as he
bent his head towards hers. “Because that’s who you are to me now.”
“And you’ve been always my Kunzite,” she murmured
back, raising her head to meet his.
They kissed.
