Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ The Death of Me ❯ One-Shot

[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Story #47 from Sailor DKC. Can’t believe it! I’m getting close to #
50! Hmm, I wonder what I’ll do after 50? Continue writing or retire?
I’ll see how the reviews and comments help me make a decision! So
read all my stories, please! ^_^

Anyway, back to this story. It’s about Mina and Kunzite, and the
picture which inspired me came from Lady Venus whose works were at
the now-dead Generals Love site. I tried bringing it up, but no luck.
But I saved those cool pics from the artists of that site. I hate to
see them go to waste.
So when you see this *, I am describing the picture in a scene.

Rated PG for some slight strong language. Takeuchi owns Sailor Moon.
I don’t. So enjoy reading!

Dedicated to Lady Venus. That pic is so movingly beautiful!

Please comment me at sailordkc@hotmail.com for comments!

PEACE!

THE DEATH OF ME
By Sailor DKC

Yawning and stretching, Kunzite readied himself for bed.
As he relaxed under the covers, he recalled the romantic day he had
with Mina and smiled. ‘What a great day,’ he thought. ‘If only it
could lasted a bit more.’ Minutes later, he drifted off to sleep.
The door to his room clicked and slowly opened, making a
creaking sound. A dark figure entered and closed the door. Then the
figure quietly tiptoed over to Kunzite’s bed and sat on one side,
facing him. Reaching out, the figure’s hand brushed against his
forehead and hair and down one side of his face.
Kunzite made a groan as he shifted a bit. Sighing, the
figure bent down and kissed him gently on the mouth. Moaning into the
kiss, Kunzite raised his hand and caressed the figure’s long golden
hair. As he pressed harder into the kiss, the figure squealed so
loudly that it woke him. “What the-?” he yelled, after breaking the
kiss. The figure leaped away from the bed as Kunzite turned and
switched his lamp on his night stand. Turning back, he sat up and
faced the intruder who stood by his bed.

“Mina!” he shouted. “What on Earth are you doing here?”
Holding her hands behind her, Mina started to move her body in small
twists. “I just wanted to give you a good night kiss.”
“A kiss?” he said. “Sweetie, we just had our good nights
about an hour ago. I thought you were already back at the Moon!”
“I know.” She sat by the bed again. “But I missed you, and
I wanna see you again.”
Sighing, he shook his head. “Oh, Mina, what am I going to
do with you?”
Biting her bottom lip playfully, she scooted forward until
she was leaning against his chest, her lips close to his. “Well, we
can kiss a little more, hmmm?”
“Mina, come on!” Kunzite protested, trying to avoid her
lips, but she kissed him in between his words. “Look,(kiss)it’s late.
(kiss)You should(kiss)go(kiss)now!(kiss kiss)” She stopped him from
talking by wrapping her arms around his neck and gave him a long
kiss. When they finally came up for air, he stared at her, panting
and turning red. “Uh, Mina, please go. Or else something’s gonna
happen that I’ll lose control over.”
Making a cute, little, sexy pout, she sighed and gave him
a quick peck before standing up. “Ok, then. I’ll see you tomorrow.
Good night, Kunzite!”
“Good night, Mina!” After she closed the door behind her,
he let out an exasperated sigh as he fell back on his pillow. “That
girl’s going to be the death of me!”

Kunzite and Mina spent a lot of time with each other when
they can because of their bodyguard duties to Prince Endymion and
Princess Serenity. It was not easy for them to go on casual dates so
whenever they have the spare time they take advantage of it. In
Mina’s case, she goes a little too far, like sneaking in Kunzite’s
room to give him a few kisses. He didn’t object for awhile until one
day changed everything. Kunzite cancelled a date with Mina because of
an emergency meeting with his Prince and his fellow General
companions. She received a message from him that said he would meet
with her tomorrow since the meeting will last all day.
Believing he might need some ‘good night kisses’ to
relieve the tension from the meeting, Mina decided to sneak in his
room that night.

When she arrived, it was around midnight. She noticed that
his room was empty so she decided to wait for him. It wasn’t too long
when she heard him turning the doorknob. Mina quickly dived into his
closet. She could hear him walking around and was surprised to hear
hjm muttering and cursing, “Damnit! I can’t believe this is
happening! This is too much!”
Frowning, she wondered what happened at the meeting. Then
she heard him approach the closet and smiled excitedly. She prepared
to surprise him. ‘Don’t worry, my love!’ she thought as she heard the
doorknob turning. ‘I’ll cheer you up!’
As Kunzite opened the closet, Mina yelled, “Surprise!”
just as he also yelled in shock. She jumped on him, wrapping her arms
around his neck and aiming for his lips. Unfortunately, he turned his
head, and she missed so she started kisspecking his cheek.
“Mina! What the hell!” He fumbled about, holding onto her
so they both won’t lose their balance.
“I missed you!” She tried getting his lips, but he kept
avoiding her.
“Mina, stop! I mean it!” He tried to pull her arms off
him. Giggling, she wondered why he was playing with her, and
kisspecked him faster all over his face. He finally got her arms off
him, held them at her sides, and shouted, “ALL RIGHT! THAT’S ENOUGH!”

Frozen in place, Mina stared at him in shock. He never
raised his voice like that to her before. “Kunzite?”
After taking a deep breath, he said in a calmer voice,
“Look, my message said I’ll see you tomorrow. Right now, I don’t want
to see you.”
Eyes widening, Mina felt her insides turn inside and out.
“You don’t want to see me?” she asked, quietly.
Sighing, Kunzite released her and closed his eyes. “The
meeting was long and complicated. I’m tired. I can’t concentrate on
anything at this moment. I’ll see you tomorrow, Ok?”
Opening his eyes, he noticed Mina staring off into space.
“I’m sorry I bothered you,” she whispered and dashed out of the room.
“Mina!” He followed after her, but halted when he saw her
in incredible speed turning the corner that led to the transportation
room. He punched his fist to the wall. “Damn! I shouldn’t have yelled
at her!” Making a sad face, he stared down the hallway for awhile,
then turned to re-enter his room. “I’ll see her tomorrow and explain
everything.”

The next day, Kunzite tried to contact Mina to talk. He
left messages with her Senshi companions, but they told him that she
wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone. Feeling guilty about last
night, he went to the Moon Kingdom to seek her out. However, he was
puzzled that no matter what place he went where he thought she might
be, she was gone before he got there. He wondered if she was avoiding
him on purpose. ‘Could it be because I yelled at her?’ he thought. ‘I
really didn’t mean to be so harsh.’
The day was over, and night was falling. He had looked all
over the Moon Kingdom and still could not find her. He now came to
the conclusion that she was avoiding him, and he would have to find
her so he can apologize. ‘But where could she be?’ he thought as he
headed towards the transportation room so he can start searching on
Earth. Suddenly, he stopped and smiled confidently. “I think I know
where she is!” he said, aloud.

In her bed, Mina laid on her side, tired and sniffling
back tears. All day she had avoided Kunzite. ‘Why is he looking for
me if he doesn’t want to see me? He made it so clear last night.’
Wiping away her tears, she snuggled deeper into her pillow. Minutes
later, she was fast asleep.
The door to her room clicked and slowly opened, making a
creaking sound. A dark figure entered and closed the door. Then the
figure quietly tiptoed over to Mina’s bed and sat on one side, facing
her. Reaching out, the figure’s hand brushed against her forehead and
hair and down one side of her face.
Mina made a groan as she turned on her back. Sighing, the
figure bent down and kissed her gently on the mouth. Moaning into the
kiss, Mina raised her hand and caressed the figure’s platinum white
hair. As she pressed harder into the kiss, the figure grunted so
loudly that it awoke her. Squealing, she pushed the figure off until
the person sat up. Mina then turned to turn on her lamp on her night
stand. As the light went on, she gasped and sat up, facing her
intruder.
“Kunzite!” she yelled, tears forming in her eyes. “What in
the Moon Kingdom are you doing here? I thought you told me that you
don’t want to see-“
He suddenly grabbed her.

* Holding her to him, Kunzite placed his right arm about her back and
cradled her head with his left hand while Mina stared, teary-eyed,
over his shoulder with her right hand hovering as if to touch his
back. *

“I’m sorry,” he murmured into her hair. “I was so harsh
with you last night. I shouldn’t have yelled at you like that.”
They pulled away enough to look at each other. “Then you
didn’t really mean it when you said you didn’t want to see me?” she
asked.
“No! I merely said that out of frustration. And I did say
I want to see you today.”
“Did you? I don’t remember.”
“You must! I wanted to talk to you about the meeting last
night. I mentioned if before you ran off.”
“Oh.” Mina thought for a second. “I guess I spaced out
after you said you didn’t want to see me. I’m sorry I took that
seriously.
“So that’s why you avoided me all day.” Kunzite embraced
her again. “Oh, honey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt your
feelings.”
“I’m sorry, too. I shouldn’t have jumped out of your
closet like that. I should have just waited till today, according to
your message.
Laughing, he pulled back to look at her and tweaked at her
nose. “Oh, Mina, you’ll be the death of me yet!”
“So you forgive me?”
“Only if you forgive me, too.”
Nodding, she leaned forward and kissed him gently. “So
tell me, what was the meeting about?”

She was taken aback by his sudden stricken look of
despair. “Kunzite, what is it?”
“Damn, I was so focused on you today that I totally forgot
how upsetting the meeting was,” he muttered. Taking her hand, he
gripped it gently. “A war is brewing on Earth, Mina.” As he watched
her cover her gaping mouth with her other hand, he continued, “We
don’t know how it started. There are troublesome rumors that are
causing uprising in some cities.”
“What rumors?”
“That the Moon people should not be trusted.”
“What!”
“You must believe me that I nor the Prince nor the other
Generals believe these accusations.”
“I do! Oh, but Kunzite, who would say such things!”
“We heard from sources that someone by the name or Beryn
or Beryl is spreading these lies. The thing of the matter is we fear
a war is coming, and it will start on my planet which means…”
“…you’ll be going to war,” Mina finished. She then flung
her arms around him. “Oh, Kunzite! I can’t believe this is
happening!”

Closing his eyes, he held her tightly. “We’re doing
everything we can to prevent it, I think we may soon need you and
your Senshi friends for assistance.” Pulling back to look at her, he
continued, “But we must prepare for the inevitable.”
Nodding, she said, “We’ll help in any way possible.” Then
she looked down, shyly. “I know this is forward of me to request
this, but would you spend the night with me, just lie next to me?”
Taken aback, Kunzite stared at her, then he chuckled
heartily. “My Mina,” he said, as he tipped her chin to make her look
at him. “You are going to be the death of me yet.”
Smiling, she moved over so he can slip in under the covers
after he took off his shoes. They held each other close and tenderly
kissed. Minutes later, they were asleep.
