He hated this feeling, trapped. Not even being able to reach the still form outside his cave as fresh tears came down his face, realizing how stuck he really was and not being able to reach his only friend.
A few different memories flashed through his mind, from meeting the bird to the last time he saw him, as he continued to try and reach the little yellow bird, still unmoving.
Sad realization came to him, he knew the bird wasn't going to move again and all he could was grip the stone bars and cry at the top of his lungs. For the friend he lost and for the freedom he didn't think he'd ever have.

Feh, I blame RL lately for being inspired to write this. I'll probably do a companion theme for this since I don't like to keep something sad or angsty for too long. So later on expect something happy to make up/go along for/with this.
