Chapter 8: Strong Words

 

Sonic walked into the ER, Tails following right behind him.

 

“How is she?” Sonic asked.

 

“The doc said she'd be fine, but she needs her rest,” Tails replied.

 

Sonic walked over to the bed where Amy was lying.

 

“Sonic……” Amy said in a weak voice, “…is that you?”

 

“Yeah,” Sonic replied, “how are you doing?”

 

“It hurts to get shot!” Amy said, giving a brief laugh.

 

“I'll have to try it sometime,” Sonic said in a sarcastic tone with a grin on his face.

 

The doctor walked into the room.

 

“I'm sorry, but she needs her rest,” the doctor said, “I'm afraid you two will have to

 

leave.”

 

Tails nodded and left the room. Sonic walked up to the bed once more and muttered three

 

words into Amy's ears before he left. Words that Sonic had kept from Amy for a long

 

time, and when he told her, it made her face turn bright crimson.

 

“I love you.”
