[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Maria was walking along a river in White forest, she was twelve now and it had been nine years
since she had begun her training. Maria decided that she was ready to help Shadow after nine
years of self-defense training and gathering wisdom.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?"A sly voice said.

"Who's there?"Maria asked.

"Hello, Maria. My name is Dr. Eggman."

"How do you know my name?"Maria asked.

"I'll explain that later. Listen, you want to find your father, correct?"

"Yes, but what's it to you?"

"My men along with G. U. N have taken your father. If you want to see him again then do as I
say. I want you to find something called the Master Emerald."Dr. Eggman said.

"What if I don't?"Maria asked.

"Then you can say "bye, bye" to your precious father." Dr. Eggman sneered. "Then I want you to
find the chaos emeralds, I'll give you twenty- four hours to find each one."

Maria thought hard about this, she didn't want to harm anyone but she had no choice.

"Fine, I'll do it but if you double- cross me then God had better be with you!"

Maria went to the closest emerald which was located on South Island. The sun was just rising,
she ran across the plains until she came to a deserted cave. Maria found the emerald easily and
then went to find the Master emerald.

Angel Island was a nice place, Maria noticed two people fast asleep while leaning against a
large, green emerald. She tip-toed over and tried to snatch the emerald but the echidna with
wings woke up.

"Hey! What're you doin'?"The echidnat yelled with his/her Australian accent.

Maria and the echidnat fought for awhile until Maria knocked her opponent into a wall, she
grabbed the Master emerald and used a technique Shadow used, Chaos Control.






"You did well, Maria."Dr. Eggman said.

Maria left to get the next chaos emerald, she was really desperate to get those emeralds. The
next one was in the Capital City at the bank. She rushed to the city and moved in the shadows,
Maria blended right in with the darkness. Maria snuck into the bank and ran to the safe, she
found it very easy but the police soon came. Maria was willing to fight the police in order to
save Shadow. The bank wasn't even standing when Maria was finished with them.

Maria ran to a safe place to hide, then she noticed a hedgehog that looked somewhat like her.
This stranger was black but the patch of fur on his chest was a perfect triangle, he had blue
highlights, he had emerald green eyes and wore red shoes.

"Hey! Who are you?!"the stranger exclaimed.

Maria didn't answer.

"I asked you a question! Who are you?!" he repeated.

"Say something, you stupid idiot!"the stranger said as he ran to Maria.

"CHAOS CONTROL!"Maria yelled. (Does this scene sound familiar?)

"Wow! He's fast!"(Yeah, that's right he, this guy doesn't know Maria's gender.)

"Wait a second, he's using the chaos emerald to warp."

"My name is Maria, I'm the strongest you'll ever meet! There's no time for games, farewell!"

Maria used Chaos Control and went back to see Dr. Eggman.

"Hee, hee, you got back in less than ten hours."Dr. Eggman complimented.

It's late, can I take a break for tonight?"Maria asked.

"Sure, you've earned it."











Maria was about to go to sleep when she noticed that the picture she kept with her was gone, the
only picture of Shadow and herself was gone. She eventually fell asleep but she had a dream
about the night she was separated from Shadow.

When Maria woke up, she didn't feel like herself. (She hasn't felt like herself in nine years.) She
was still tired and could barely keep her eyes open. Maria went to find the next chaos emerald, it
was in a deep forest. While Maria looked wearily for the emerald, she came across the echidnat
she had stolen the Master emerald from.

"You! Where is my dad's emerald?"he/she said.

"I don't have it."Maria replied.

Maria suddenly felt extremely tired, she fainted but the echidnat caught her.

Several hours later, Maria woke up on the floor of a bedroom.

"You're finally awake!"Someone said.

Maria looked up at the black and blue hedgehog she'd seen back at the Capital City.

"Hey Dad, Gierin, Tails, Knuckles, come 'ere."he yelled.

"Hey, the name's Burlow. What's yours?"

"My name is Maria . Where am I?"

"You're on South Island."

"Burlow, what's the deal?" A blue hedgehog said as he walked into the room.

"Hey, dad. This is Maria."Burlow said.

Knuckles, Tails and the echidna with wings walked into the room.

"Pleased to meet ya."Sonic said, shaking Maria's hand.










"Maria, this is my dad, Sonic the hedgehog,"Burlow said. "And these are my friends, Gierin,"

"G'day, mate."Gierin said.

"Knuckles,"Burlow continued.

"Hello. I'm Gierin's father."Knuckles said.

"And Tails."

"Hi, Maria."Tails said cheerfully.

"Wait, I need to get the chaos emeralds!"Maria yelled, scrambling to her feet and running to the
door.

"You're not going anywhere until you tell us what's going on."Burlow said.

"Fine, Dr. Eggman is forcing me to find the chaos emeralds if I ever want to see my father
again."Maria explained.

"Who is your father?"Sonic asked.

"Shadow."Maria replied.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eggman was on ARK awaiting Maria.

"Where is she? Her time is almost up. You'd better hope she gets here soon, for your sake."Dr.
Eggman said to Shadow who was watching him pace back and fourth.

"Joe, keep an eye on him. If he tries to escape, shoot him."Dr. Eggman said to one of his goons.

Back on South Island, Burlow and his friends had promised to help Maria save Shadow but they
wouldn't give the chaos emeralds to Dr. Eggman. They went to ARK on a space ship.

Back on ARK, Shadow saw that Joe wasn't looking at him so he smashed through the glass and
ran for his life. Joe aimed at Shadow and shot several times, Shadow dodged a bullet but he
heard a loud snap in his arm, it had broken. Shadow continued to run, then he got shot in the
back but he continued to run, he had to. Joe kept shooting when finally, he got Shadow right in
the chest, he slid across the floor and crashed into a pile of metal crates.

"That'll teach 'im."Joe said.

Maria had just gotten to ARK with her new friends, they entered the room where Shadow was.



"Father!"Maria yelled as she dug through the crates, finding Shadow under them.

"Father, are you okay."Maria asked.

"Maria?"Shadow said.

"Father, what happened here?"

"Maria, please... forgive me for what I let them do to you."

Maria hesitated.

"... It's okay."

"Thank you."

Shadow closed his eyes and stopped breathing.

"Father?!"Maria said.

"His heart is beating, he's still alive."Tails said.

"Oh, god. *gulp* does anybody know C. P. R?"Maria asked.

"What?"Burlow asked.

"What the hell is that?"Gierin asked.

"I know how to do it but I can't perform it,"Tails said. "Can you do it?"

"*gulp* yes."Maria replied.

Maria couldn't believe she was going to do this but she lost Shadow once
and she wasn't going to loose him again. After trying for several minutes, Shadow
began to hack and cough. Soon, he was breathing deeply and slowly.

"Maria, if we don't treat those gun shots, Shadow could bleed to death."Tails stated.

Maria tore off the lower part of her sweat shirt and tied it around Shadow's chest, the bleeding
slowed down.

"Maria, I'll find out who did this and when I do, they'll pay."Burlow said.

Burlow ran off and searched for the man who shot Shadow, he easily found Joe because he was the only one
carrying a shotgun. Burlow punched him right in the back of the head, sending him flying into the wall.

"Stop! Leave me alone!"Joe yelled.

"Leave you alone? Leave you alone?! Did you leave Shadow alone, you little bastard?!"Burlow asked.

Burlow continued to beat on him until he was nothing but a bloody pulp, he went back to see if
his friends were okay. Maria was still on the floor with Shadow in her arms, Gierin was next
to her and Tails had left to find a space ship.

"Hey, guys. I found a space ship. Let's go home."Tails said as he came out of the hall.

"Is there a first aid kit in the ship?"Maria asked.

"Yes. 'Common, let's go."Tails replied.

They all went to the space ship and Tails got the first aid kit. He found that Shadow had been
shot twice, had a broken arm, and had a head injury.

"Maria, I'll need your help."Tails said.

"Cloth and water please."Tails requested.

He cleaned the blood off of Shadow's injuries.

"Tweezers."

Tails removed the bulets from Shadow's back and chest.

"Alcohol.(Medecine)"

Tails put it on Shadow's wounds.

"Needle and thread."

Tails stitched the injuries.

"Bandages."

Tails wraped a bandage around Shadow's chest, back and head, then he put a cast on Shadow's arm.

"He'll be okay now, he just needs some rest."Tails said.

"You're sure?"Maria asked.

"Positive."

Maria slept peacefully that night, knowing that her father would be okay.She couldn't wait until Shadow
was awake. The next morning, Maria went to see if Shadow was awake, he was still asleep so Maria sat
next to his bed. Shadow began to wake up, he looked up at Maria.

"Maria?"Shadow said."Where are we?"

Maria looked at her father.

"We're on a space ship and we're going home."

"Home, I can hardly remember the meaning of that word. Are we really going home?"

"Yes, father. We're going home."

Maria hugged her father, she never thought she'd see Shadow again.

"Maria, where did you get that scar?"Shadow asked, pointing to the gouge on Maria's side.

"I got that when I got scratched by a sharp stone."Maria replied.

Maria told Shadow all about how she had begun her self-defense training and how she had gone through
so many experiences.

"I'm so glad that I can just go home and continue my life the way it was. Oh, dad, I've missed you so much."Maria said.

"I've missed you too, Maria."Shadow replied.

Shadow needed some more sleep so Maria left to get something to eat. While she sat in a chair,
Burlow had just woken up.

"Hey, Maria."Burlow said.

"Hi Burlow, thanks alot for helping me save my father."Maria replied.

"Aw, shucks. You don't need to say that."Burlow replied.

Maria leaned over and kissed Burlow on the cheek, Burlow turned red from embarasment.

"W-what did you do that for?"Burlow asked, still a little embarased.

Maria didn't answer. Burlow looked into Maria's blue eyes, Maria stared right back into
Burlow's green eyes. Soon enough, Burlow kissed Maria right back.

The space ship landed after a while. Burlow went home after saying goodbye to his friends. Maria
went home with Shadow, they made it back to the mountain range and the house was still standing.

"We're home."Shadow said as he opened the front door.

Maria walked in and looked at the many familiar surroundings, she looked up at the picture of her father.
She had to know if this was really a dream so she ran up the stairs and into her bedroom. Everything was
just as she'd left it. Maria dug through her desk until she found the golden locket that she kept, it had
the same two pictures that had always been there.

"I'm finally home, it's not a dream."Maria said with extream releif.

She put the locket away and walked over to her bed and just collapsed on the bed. Maria trully was home.

point of veiw. By the way, if you were wondering, Gierin is a girl.
