A/N: This is my first fanfic so don't be angry if I didn't put much detail into it. I decided to do an adaptation to practice, then start with original stuff

Disclaimer: Sonic and company belong only to Sega and the Sonic Team and right now they are starting making a new Sonic Adventure for Gamecube so make sure you buy it like I will.

Chapter: 1 The Begginning

13:27 Somewhere over the capital city

"Sigma-Alpha 2 heading due south over the city," pilot said in contact with the GUN control tower, "we're en route and everything's a go, over."

"This control tower, we have you on radar," the control tower answered in response, "report status of captured hedgehog aboard, over."

"That's a 10-4, hedgehog secured and-" The pilot said turning around to take a look for himself, "What!!!," the pilot says as he sees Sonic knocking out the last of his captives.

"The hedgehog's escaped and has taken out everyone aboard," The pilot said to the control tower before he grabbed his gun and went to stop the blue wonder before he got out of the helicopter, somehow.

Sonic was pissed. First he was arrested for stealing a Chaos Emerald from the first national bank (While spending a nice vacation from his adventure with Chaos at the most expensive hotel in the city), then he was padded down by some gay looking guy wanting to touch his but and pull his tail. He was not having a good day.

"That takes care of that problem," Sonic said picking the lock on his handcuffs. He had tripped the guy with the keys into the corner and picked his handcuffs. Then finding out that guy he tripped was the gay guy. He kicked the guy a few times for fun. Silently he subdued everyone else with the hilt of the gay guys gun.

"Now to get out of here," Sonic said looking towards the door, "But first I`ll need a parachute."

"What!?" Sonic heard the pilot say. Great, now he has to leave without a parachute. Sonic then did a homing attack on the door and suddenly flew outside into the daylight

Suddenly, the helicopter door pops off, and we see Sonic fly out, just barely grabbing the wing

"Freeze! What do you think you're doing," the pilot says to Sonic, then turns to his men, who were right then waking up, "Get that hedgehog!"

"Talk about low budget flights, no food or movies, I'm outa here," Sonic then flips up to the top of the helicopter and breaks off a panel on the helicopter, "I like running better," He puts his feet on the improvised board and slides off the helicopter, spinning like a top to slow his decent while yelling: Yeah!!!!!!!!

Stage 01: City Escape

Mission: Escape from the military pursuit

After stealinghelicopter panel, Sonic finally landed in the capital. As soon as he landed, he suddenly started moving quickly downhill. As soon as he realized this, he started to pretend he was snowboarding and quickly dodged an impact into a store.

`If I know this city as well as I think I do,' thought Sonic, `then this street should lead me out to the city limits.'

Sonic "street boarded" through the streets, dodging cars and moving quickly past citizens. He kept going straight down, only turning to get rings that he felt he would need later on. He saw a ramp and decided to try something. He went off the ramp, doing a slow 360.

He cut across another car and grabbed some rings, then made a few more turns and went off another ramp. He made another turn, then tucked in for speed to prepare for the next ramp. He went off the ramp doing a hedgehog 900 (an inverted 2 and a half turn spin). While landing, he accidentally missed his turn and landed over a fence.

`Darn! now I have to find another way out of the city', he thought. He ran up some steps and suddenly a robot fell from the sky, almost landing on him. `They tracked me this fast!?,' Sonic thought as he quickly homing attacked him.

Sonic started running forward but saw another robot. He started running on the wall opposite of the robot and avoided him completely. He jumped off the wall and homing attacked robot he just saw, then did a somersault to destroy some crates. Seeing a staircase, he jumped on the rail in the middle of it and grinded down the rail to a speed pad. The speed pad sent Sonic up a ramp, which he then jumped and homing attacked over a gap to another speed ramp that seemed to lead to another road.

Running down the street at a 100mph, Sonic went off a ramp, did a quick trick, and then landed on another speed pad sending him in a completely different direction. This one led to another ramp, which he did another spinning trick, landing on another speed pad, going off another ramp, doing another trick, and then landing on a bumper which sent him on the top of this elevator building. Feeling only a little bit dizzy from that quick rush, Sonic quickly ran up some stairs avoiding gunfire from robots on either side of the staircase. He looked up to see a beetle robot with a gun aimed at him. Sonic barely dodges the shot, but gets hit by the next one, making him lose all of the rings he had. Sonic quickly grabs a ring, then homing attacks the beetle before it can fire again. He runs out into the street, making a quick turn while sideswiping cars. He then gets to the town square, where he finds another staircase with another rail that he jumps on. At the end of the rail, his speed sends him up a ramp, with robots below trying to shoot him. Sonic bounces off the bumper to get past them. He then runs through this park, avoiding more robots and they're gunfire. He goes up a loop with help from a speed pad, and runs down the side of a building. He hits a bumper, which sends him on a pipe. He swings off the pipe to another pipe, and then another pipe. He swings off the last pipe, landing on a building roof, which over looked a gap. Seeing some more beetle robots, he homing attacks them in a chain, which gets him to the other side. He runs to another staircase, which holds another rail. He starts jumping to the rail, but a robot comes out of nowhere trying to land on him. Sonic's spinning spines from jumping, luckily destroyed the robot, as Sonic then jumped on the rail and rode it down. As the rail ended, another was there, and Sonic jumped to this rail and did this a couple more times until flying off the last one onto a pipe. He swung off the pipe to a platform with a fence blocking another rode. Sonic somersaulted under the slit at the bottom of the fence and started running thinking that nothing could stop him since he was almost at the city limits. Suddenly a huge black truck taking up both lanes with the GUN symbol on it landed on the road right behind Sonic, and it looked like it was going to try to run him over. Sonic ran down the streets, making turns and everything he could do to lose the truck, but he couldn't. Then he saw the road to the city limits. As he tried to out run the truck out of the city, the truck instead started to gain on Sonic. As the truck's bumper was just about to hit Sonic's tail, it crashed into a low bridge and left Sonic to escape the city.

`That was close,' he thought, as he looked to see the setting sun. By now the sun had set and it was night. He suddenly heard something land behind him.

"This game of tag is boring, I'm outa here," Sonic said turning around, "Hmm! Finally decided to show up, eh? Ok then, bring it on," Sonic said fearlessly to the pilot of the huge mech walker that he was now looking at

"This is Fighter F6-T Big Foot reporting to headquarters, intruder has been located," Sonic heard the pilot say into his radio.

The fight started with the walker initiating a huge thruster allowing it to fly in the air. It the started to shoot a machine gun at Sonic but Sonic easily dodged it. The walker then landed, and shot out 2 volleys of homing missiles. Sonic easily jumped over this, and landed on the cockpit shell. The impact of Sonic's spinning spines damaged the mech a lot, which angered the pilot. He immediately launched up in the air, firing his machine gun some more. Then he landed and sent out another 2 volleys of missiles. Sonic jumped over this to attack, but this time the pilot sent a third volley which hit Sonic, which caused the pilot to laugh. Sonic kept his cool and then did a homing attack, which damaged him anyway. Sonic got an idea then. He jumped on a box and when the walker started to fly towards him Sonic jumped and hit the cockpit with enough force, that the pilot felt that another hit would cause the walker to be defeated.

"This is Fighter F6-T Big Foot. I've engaged the enemy and request backup"

He immediately destroyed all crates around Sonic. He landed down and shot 4 volleys of missiles at Sonic. Sonic just dodged the volleys and then hit him, causing the walker to fall over. "What! With just one hedgehog!" The pilot immediately ejected and ran off.

Watching the walker pilot run off, Sonic here's a noise coming from the fallen walker.

"What!?" Sonic says, while he sees a black hedge hog that looks a lot like him, except he's black with red on the tip of his spines and a puff of white fur on his chest. Plus he was holding the green Chaos Emerald.

"It all starts with this, a jewel containing the ultimate power," the black hedgehog said, not noticing Sonic

"That's the… Chaos Emerald," Sonic said, while starting to realize the bigger picture, "Now I know what's going on! The military has mistaken me for the likes of you. So what do you think you're doing with that emerald?"

All Shadow did was give him a blank stare, as if remembering something someone said.

Sonic was now getting angry and started running at him, "Say something, you fake hedgehog!"

"Chaos… CONTROL!" Shadow suddenly threw up the Emerald and pointed his finger at it, as if concentrating on it. Weird green light came out of the Emerald, steadily growing brighter. The hedgehog suddenly caught the Emerald and the green light engulfed him.

Sonic saw the hedgehog come at him at a high speed and go past him with a snicker on his face. Sonic could just barely follow him with his eyes.

"Wow he's fast. Hey… it's not his speed, he must be using the Chaos Emerald to warp!"

"My name is Shadow," the hedgehog started to say, "I am the world's ultimate lifeform. There's no time for games, farewell!" and with that came another Chaos Control and he was gone.

"Shadow, what is he? Kuu!" Sonic said that last part because suddenly a light was shot in his eyes

"Don't move stay! Where you are! Keep your hands in the air!" A man said with the GUN symbol on his suit.

"Not again…"

A/N: Well that's chapter one. In the next chapter we see how Knuckles is doing. The more reviews I get that are not flames, the faster I'll try to send the next chapter. Expect the latest time for the next chapter next week.
