Manic and Sonic sat on the deck of Sonic’s shack. 

 “I’m sorry.” Sonic said. “I didn’t even realize how fast I was back then.”

 Manic looked at Sonic. “So you went back to look for me?”

 Sonic nodded. “Your bed was empty.” He said. “I ran all over the place searching for you. That’s how I met Tails, Knux, and Sal. Tails has looked through every database for years. It was like you never existed.”

 “I’m sorry about beating you up.” Manic said, skipping a rock across the pond. “I owe you big time.”

 Sonic smirked. “Yes, you certainly do.”

 Manic smiled as he shook his head. “Just make sure it’s not over fifty.” He said. “I don’t have that much money.”

 “How about an order of chili dogs?” Sonic asked.

 “I can do that.” Manic replied.

 Sonic checked his watch. “And it’s lunch time.” He said, getting up. He helped Manic up. “Let’s go.”

 Sonic raced off, dragging Manic along.

 Manic laughed. “You could’ve let me grab my hoverboard, bro.”
