Ryoko sat on her rafter and pondered about her dream.

Dream:

Ryoko watched as a young man sat next to a giant dieing tree. He looked up to the sky, where she was watching, and saw tears in his eyes. The man was young: he looked about 27, with spiky, long hair in a ponytail. His eyes wear brown, and he had a scar on his face. Next to him laid a giant staff, which lay in the dirt like a dead stick. Suddenly a giant shadow appeared and began to descend on him. The man cried out in surprise as the shadow picked him up. He looked towards Ryoko with a pleading look in his eyes, and shouted out her name in despair.

End of dream

Ryoko had woken up sweating, with both hands on her mouth, her throat raw from muffled screams. Now she sat, trying to figure out what the dream meant. She was deep in thought, and didn't hear Tenchi come down the stairs.

Tenchi cautiously looked around the room searching for the cyan haired demon that would tackle him. He looked up and saw Ryoko on her rafter, deep in thought. He stared at her in surprise, wondering what she could be thinking about that she didn't even notice him. Tenchi gave a sigh a relief, but looked at Ryoko again with worry. Usually the ex-space pirate would only go this deep in thought if something were worrying her.

"Good morning Ryoko." He called to her. Ryoko snapped her head up, surprised to see Tenchi looking at her with worry in his eyes. At first, Ryoko just stared at Tenchi, but all she could see was the warrior from her dream. "I.. Ibara… No I mean Tenchi! Good morning Tenchi, what are you doing up so early?" she asked. Tenchi looked at her in confusion. 'Why did Ryoko call me Ibara? Is that who she's thinking about?' He thought, as he replied "Ryoko, its eight thirty in the morning, this is the time I always get up."

Ryoko stared at Tenchi again until a voice broke her attention. "Good morning Lord Tenchi, did you sleep well?" Ayeka asked as she came down the stairs. Sasami came out of the kitchen. "Good morning everyone breakfast is ready! Hey Ryoko, could you get Little Washu and Mihoshi?" she asked, Ryo-oh-ki perched on her head.

"Oh, sure thing Sasami, I'll be back in a little bit." And with that, Ryoko teleported away.

"Lord Tenchi, did you notice that Ryoko is acting differently today?" Ayeka asked, confusion evident on her face.

Tenchi nodded, and went to sit at the table, apparently lost in thought.

Ryoko appeared in Mihoshi's room. "Wake up Mihoshi, its time to eat." Knowing that the sound of food would do the rest of the work, Ryoko went into Washu's lab.

"Hey Washu, time to eat!" Ryoko called out. She hated being in Washu's lab. It was too much of a reminder of a certain incident that happened after the Zero problem. Just thinking about it sent shiver down her spine.

*Little Ryoko, I'm going to be late for breakfast, there is something important I have to take care of. Tell Sasami to save me some food for later on.*

Ryoko shrugged and hurriedly left the lab to go eat. Washu waited until she felt her daughter's presence exit the lab, then turned back to her computer. For the past few months, Washu had been sensing her daughter's agitation and confusion about the dreams, and although she didn't show it, Washu was getting worried. So for the last weeks, she had been trying to unlock the secrets to Ryoko's dreams, with no success.

At least Ryoko hadn't found out about it so far. Washu could only imagine what Ryoko would do to her if she found out. Washu quickly erased the idea from her head and went back to work.

Ryoko came out of the lab and told Sasami that Washu wouldn't be joining them for breakfast. Sasami gave a disappointed sigh as she bought the food over to the table, leaving Washu's food in the kitchen to put away when she was done eating.

Ryoko took her usual place beside Tenchi, with a distant look in her eyes. Everyone began to eat, Tenchi and Ayeka watching Ryoko with confusion, suspicion, or concern. Sasami and Mihoshi oblivious to the rest of the family's attitudes.

After breakfast was over, Ryoko flew to the top of the roof, doing her best to relax. Mihoshi soon left for one of her missions, and Ryoko listened as the Yukinojo(s/?) took off into space. Ayeka helped Sasami clean up, and began searching for Ryoko. She finally found her on the roof, as she was about to scold Ryoko, the ex-pirates eyes flew open, and she started gasping for breath. Ayeka stayed hidden thinking it to be one of Ryoko's tricks.

"Ayeka, I know you're there, stop hiding from me." Ayeka looked in shock as she found out that she had been discovered, and came out of her hiding place. "How did you know I was there," forgetting the Ryoko had been acting so strangely towards everyone. "I heard you coming, you couldn't sneak up on a deaf man if you tried your so noisy," She smirked, regaining some of her usual self.

"WHAT!!!!?? I AM NOT NOISY YOU DEMON!!"

"Than why are you screaming? You're going to scare everyone out of their wits with the way you're talking.

Ayeka opened her mouth to reply, but stopped, realizing she had fallen into another of Ryoko's traps. Ryoko just smirked and phased away. Ayeka looked at the spot where Ryoko had just been.*She didn't even try to continue fighting with me. What's wrong with her?*

Ryoko phased to the cave she had been imprisoned in for 700 years, and stood there just staring at it as a memory came to her.

            Flashback:

A 14-year-old Ryoko was on the Soja, bowing down to Kagato. "Ryoko, we will be having some guests today. I want you to respect them as you would respect me, otherwise you will be punished."

            "Yes Sir."

Ryoko teleports to the guest room and sees five people looking slightly startled at her sudden appearance. Three women and two men. The first woman was a short redhead with curly hair and purple eyes. She was wearing a brown tunic and hose, and had a sword strapped to her side. Around her neck was a beautiful stone the likes of what Ryoko had never seen before.

The woman next to her was tall and beautiful. She had long black hair with emerald eyes that were bright with authority. She wore a beautiful long blue dress that only added to her beauty. Hidden from normal human eyes, but obvious to Ryoko's senses, was a dagger.

The third woman was strange to Ryoko. She was a little shorter then the raven-haired woman, with thick curly brown hair, and cloudy blue eyes. She wore an outfit similar to the redhead, and had a bow on her back. Ryoko felt something strange about her, but couldn't tell what. All three of the women stared at Ryoko with kindness and respect.

The two men stared at Ryoko with no expression on their faces. The firs one was tall and was wearing what looked like clothes royalty wore. He had black hair and blue eyes, making him very attractive. He wore a sword longer then the woman's and had a small pouch around his waste.

The man next to him resembled that of a stork, and to Ryoko, seemed as tall as Kagato. He had long black hair tied back in a horsetail, and eyes as black as his hair. He wore some kind of a robe that gave him a superior and powerful look.

            End Flashback

Ryoko shook her head, trying to clear her mind of the memories that plagued her. She flew up to the top of her old prison and laid on top of it, her hand going to a jewel similar to the one the woman was wearing. *How could I have forgotten that?* It had been a time she thought she could never regret. *But that's right, I had to, for their safety as much as mine.* She picked up the stone, looking at the flame that never died living inside it. *That's right, she gave it to me as a reminder to go and see her as soon as I was free. I should go see them…. but what about Tenchi? Ayeka will try to steal him away from me if I leave, not to mention Sasami would be heart broken to see Ryo-oh-ki and me leave…Damn it what do I do!?*

*Ryoko, could you come to my lab? I need to talk to you, it has to do with your gems, I don't think it can wait. *
