In the crowd, he spotted her, walking with a carefree grace.

 

But his presence she was left unaware of.

 

For the greatest dangers lurked in broad daylight.

 

While a ninja lurks in the shadows, waiting to smite it.

 

And as he leapt from shadow to shadow, a perfect camoflague, he was spotted by a child.

 

“What are you doing?” he asked with a curious look.

 

“My job,” Kurogane answered, looking boredly at the youth.

 

“Can I help?”

 

But the ninja was nowhere to be found.

 

Only the writhing shadows.
