~Chapter 1: The Duelists And Tanteis Party~
Everyone was going to have a big Christmas party at Marlene's house. All her friends were
coming.
Marlene was currently checking that everything was in perfect order. She placed a few tables
around the big room, in case someone decided to bring their duel decks. Her christmas tree was
decorated blue and silver (the tree in my house is a white one and decorated just like that)
with a beautiful angel on top. She was alone since her mother was away and waited for her
friends' arrival. She tasted a bit of the frosting on the cake she got from the bakery. She
even had a fruitcake as well. She hoped her guests would like the snacks and deserts.
Suddenly, the phone rang. Marlene went to it and answered it.
"Moshi Moshi."
"Marlene? This is Ryou."
"Konnichiwa, Ryou-kun." Marlene smiled. "Everything is ready so you and Bakura can come whenever
you wish."
"That's what I need to talk to you about. I don't think Bakura and I will go."
Marlene's expression turn to disappointment. She had wanted all her friends to come to the
party. "Doushite?"
"Bakura is sick." came Ryou's reply.
Marlene couldn't believe her ears. Bakura? Sick? 'Now that's something you don't hear everyday.'
"Ever since all the yamis became mortals again, they also have to deal with the consequences too."
Ryou continued.
"Yeah, that's why Yami got so hurt that time he fell down the stairs." Marlene sighed. Then
she smiled as a sudden thought came to her. "But hey, you can still come to the party. Just
bring Bakura with you."
"Demo-"
"No buts." Marlene said. "He can stay in one of my guest rooms. I don't want you guys to stay
home doing nothing. This evening is for celebrating. Bakura can have anything he needs. Onegai?"
Ryou thought for a moment. Marlene waited hopefully. "Alright, you win." Her face brightened.
"But I warn you, Bakura's going to be grumpy."
"I know." Marlene smirked.
That night....
"Hi guys. It's great to see you."
Seto Kaiba and his little brother enter the house.
"Marlene-san, thank you for inviting us!" Mokuba said, giving the blonde a big hug.
All her friends came, which included: Yugi, Yami, Ryou, Bakura, Jou, Anzu, Honda, Marik, Malik,
Serenity, Seto, and Mokuba. She invited other people to the party, but they had yet to come.
Those who weren't dueling were pigging out on the food (Jou and Honda). So Marlene put on some
music.
"Anzu, would you like to dance?" said a blushing Yugi.
"Yeah!" Anzu said. They danced.
While Marik, Malik, and Seto stayed seated, Honda went to Serenity.
"Hey, Serenity!" he called. "You wanna dance?"
"Well I..." Serenity started.
"Oh no ya don't!" Jou came up and jumped on Honda. "How many times do I have to tell ya to stay
away from her?!"
"Get off!" Honda cried.
While the two fought, Serenity shyly approached Yami. Blushing as she got closer. "Yami-kun?"
Yami turned to look at her. "Hai?"
"Um...would you...would you dance with me?"
Yami smiled. "Sure." He took her hand and led her to the dance floor, not noticed by the two
fighting teens.
"I'm going to check on Bakura." Ryou said. He walked up the stairs to the guest room where his
dark aibou rested.
Later, a knock was heard on Marlene's door.
"Can somebody answer that, onegai?" Marlene called from she kitchen as she prepared more snacks.
Jou came and answered the door. He was greeted by a young man with long red hair and green
eyes. (Can you guess who it is before I even say his name?)
"Uh, hi." Jou greeted him. "No offense, but ya look like a girl."
"None taken." said young stranger. "It happens all the time. Uh, pardon my rudeness. My name is
Kurama. I am Marlene's cousin. She invited us to her christmas party."
"Us?" Jou finally noticed the few people behind the youth. Three guys: one with greasy black
hair and dark brown eyes, a tall ugly one with orange hair and black eyes, and one with brown
hair and brown eyes. And four girls: one with blue hair and pink eyes, the second one was small and
had aqua green hair and ruby eyes, the third one had brown hair and brown eyes, and the last one had
short chocolate hair and soft brown eyes.
"Hai." Kurama continued, and introduced his friends. "This is Yuseke, Kuwabara, Koenma, Botan,
Yukina, Shizuru, and Keiko. We all came here for the party."
"In dat case, come on in." Jou opened the door all the way to let the group in. Kurama stopped
next to him.
"There is one more person coming, but he has he's own way of coming in."
"Uh, sure."
As they came into the living room, Marlene saw her other friends.
"Guys!" she called. "I'm so glad you made it!"
"It was a long trip, Marlene-chan." said Kurama. "But it was worth it if it meant to visit my
favorite little cousin again."
"Oh, stop it, Kurama-kun." Marlene said as the fox approached her. Jou stayed behind for a while
since he spotted Yami dancing with his sister. He trusted Yami so he would let them be for now
if it made Serenity happy. He then moved to follow Kurama.
'This is boring.' Seto thought as he sat alone on the couch. 'I only came because Mokuba and
Marlene begged me to. There's got to be something better to do than just sit around.' Looking
to his right, he saw Jou. 'Now there's something I can do. I only need the perfect oportunity.'
Marlene, using her roller skates in the house, skated into the living room carrying more drinks.
'Oportunity in sight.' Seto thought. He watched as Marlene stopped in front of the tables and
dropped what she carried.
"Marlene." He called her.
"Hai." she replied, not looking at him.
"You shouldn't use those skates in the house, especially while carrying those big plates."
"I'm fine, Seto. Nothing's going to happen."
"Well, you never know. Sooner or later you'll have an accident and drop the plates right into
someone's face." Seto glance back at Jou, giving a mental thanks when he saw Jou had stopped at
one of the tables.
"Oh, I guess you're right. I'll take them off."
Marlene took off her skates and left them right beside Seto's feet. He smirked a little. Jou
was walking farther into the living room.
With one foot alone, Seto pushed one of the skates in front of him. 'Ready...Aim...Shoot!' He
pushed the roller skate toward the unsuspecting Jou. Yami was closer to him, but he threw it at Jou
for two reasons: (1) He didn't want Yami to Mind Crush him, though Yugi would've stopped him.
(2) Jou is more fun to annoy.
Marlene walked out of the kitchen with yet another plate. This one had cheese flan in it, one of
Marlene's favorite deserts. Her aunt taught her how to make it. She suddenly heard a loud
scream.
Jou was standing on one of her roller skates and was rolling uncontrolably straight at her!
"WHAT THE-?!"
"AAAHHHH!!"
*CRASH*
Everyone in the room gasped. The plate full of flan fell on Marlene's face. She and Jou lay on
the floor, Jou on top of her.
"Marlene, are you alright?" said a worried Kurama as he hurried toward them.
Jou froze and stared as Marlene slowly removed the plate from her face.
"Oh, Marlene. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I-"
He gulped when Marlene revealed a murderous look. Her temper rose to its peak. Not only did the
other blonde fell on top of her and embarrassed her, but he ruined her flan.
"JOUNOUCHI!! GET OFF ME!"
*CRACK* Her fist connected with his left eye.
"OWW!!" Jou covered his eye and tried pathetically to get up. But some of the flan's syrup
spilled on the floor, making him slip and fall on top of Marlene again. That earned him another
furious glare.
He laughed nervously and sweatdropped. "Hehe...did you know you look cute when your mad?"
The next thing Jou knew was being pushed off Marlene by a black blur and being held to the wall
by the neck with the tip of a sharp katana between his eyes.
Everyone gasped again. Jou gulped and looked at his assailant. The one holding him was a guy with
candle fire-like black hair and a white starburst, almond-shaped eyes with crimson irises, and was
as short as Marlene. He also wore black leather sleeveless shirt and pants, a white scarf, black
boots, and a white band on his forehead. (SMG: *drool*) Marlene glanced at him as she sat up and
wiped the flan from her eyes. The sight made her smile and forget her anger.
"Hiei, you came!" she said.
"Hiei?" said the YGO gang, except Yugi. They hadn't expected Marlene's boyfriend to show up. He
wasn't exactly a party person.
"Koban-wa, Hiei-san." said Yugi, waving at him.
"Hiei, is this really necessary?" Kurama said.
The little fire demon just glared at the blonde, who's face was changing into different colors
from the lack of air and stared at him with a look of fear and desperation. Marlene approached
them.
"It's okay, Hiei-koi. I forgive him." she said.
Hearing those words, Hiei released Jou and seathed his katana in a blink. He stayed quiet. Marlene grabbed
his hand and led him to the kitchen.
"Don't mind us. Continue the party if you wish." she called.
Now that she was alone with Hiei, she couldn't be happier.
"Knowing you, you'll either stay in a corner or follow me wherever I go." she hugged him. "I just
knew you would come."
Hiei's emotionless expression turned into a smirk. "Hn. You think I would leave you and Yukina with
those idiots?"
"Now Hiei, you better not include my friends in your idiots list." She backed away and looked into a
nearby mirror. "Look at me. Who am I going to get all this flan off my face."
"Allow me." Hiei suddenly grabbed her, turned her, and held her close. Then he started licking the
flan on her face. After the first lick, Marlene smiled.
"You still have your sweet tooth, don't you?"
Hiei responded with more licking. She felt like he was teasing her. "Fine, have it your way, Hiei."
As soon as all the flan was licked off, Marlene pulled Hiei into a deep, passionate kiss.
"AAAAAACHOO!" Bakura sneezed again. He sat on the guest bed looking mad.
"Bless you." said Ryou, smiling. "How are you feeling?"
"Like shid!" Bakura yelled. "*sniff* I ca't beliebe you guys ale habing all de fu dowstails and I
hab to staid in beb!"
Ryou tried hard not to laugh at how his yami sounded and handed him another paper towel.
"Thanks." Bakura muttered.
Ryou blinked in shock but stayed quiet. Bakura was THANKING him? He must really feel SICK.
"You need more rest. If you need me I'll be downstairs." Ryou walked toward the door.
"Yea, IF I need you, I'll yell." Bakura called after his hikari. "AAAACHOO!"
"Bless you." Ryou then left the room.
Ryou reached the party zone just in time to see more chaos taking place.
Hiei sat on the couch idian style and looked like he was staring into space. Marlene went back to
the kitchen because Jou and Honda ate all her christmas cookies. And by the way, Marlene's other
skate was right below Hiei, in front of the couch. Ryou sat next to the fire demon, keeping his
distance. It's not that he didn't like his friend's boyfriend, but he knew that Hiei didn't like
people too close to him.
Hiei ignored the others dancing until he spotted a certain baka making his way to his twin.
Kuwabara walked up to Yukina, blushing like mad.
"Yukina-san, would you like to dance with me?" he said all excited and jumping like a child.
Hiei's almond-shaped eyes turned to his sister and Kuwabara, and they turned redder, if posible. He
hated it when the big oaf made moves on his sister and the only other time his eyes flashed so
murderously was when someone tried to approach Marlene. Looking down at the object on the floor
below him, he suddenly got an idea and smirked.
Hiei released one foot and pushed Marlene's skate toward Kuwabara. You can guess what happened next
or...
"AAAAAAHHH!!" Kuwabara stepped on the skate and rolled toward the kitchen.
"Woah, runaway train!" Yuseke yelled as he jumped out of the way.
Just then, Marlene walked out of the kitchen, with a plate of cookies fresh out of the oven, and
saw Kuwabara heading straight at her. Hiei then realized his mistake, but Marlene was ready this
time. She put the plate she was holding right in front of her.
*SPLAT*
Kuwabara's face crashed right into the plate and fell back. Cookies fell everywhere in the kitchen
and the skate rolled to the other side of the room. Kuwabara lay on the floor with the plate over
his face.
"Ow."
Marlene frowned at him and placed her hands on her hips. "Geez, if you wanted my cookies so badly
I would've made more." She turned and went to make more cookies with the remaining ingredients.
Everyone stared at the fallen idiot.
"Say hello to the Kuwabara Cookie Express." Yuseke laughed at his own joke. As did everyone else
except for Hiei, who simply smirked.
