I'd read this a while ago, and just found it again. This really is one of the best GW stories I've ever read. I love Wufei, and the characterization is simply amazing, it really is so very sad the way his life had played out. Even when he's going through the death of the other pilots and Sally, it never feels like a narrative, you get personally involved in each account he remembers. The contrasting mix of memories and the physical descriptions of his failing body are very nicely juxtaposed. I'm so glad that this fic is still up and I hope you still get this review after all those years because you deserve to praise XD

Very nice. The characterization was done well, and you truly capture the emotions behind losing everyone you've ever cared about. It's a very powerful piece, and the inner reflection was quite captivating. As for grammar, it doesn't have many problems. Just a couple of things that would easily be caught by a beta. Your flow is very nice; the pacing practically perfect for a piece of this nature. Each of the characters deaths were well explained and left a real feeling of melancholy. There's also a lingering feeling of helplessness all through this piece that enhances Wufei's observations and musings. The death of yet another person he cares about at the end was a very good way to further show how truly alone he is. Ifound myself feeling quite bad for him in the end and the story left me with chills. Great work. Thank you for submitting to the FFRG, and I do hope to see further submissions from you in the future. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Sorry! I forgot about Wufei's characterization(even though you asked about it..."_"*). Wufei seems to be very in character. I think that you got his pride and dignity very well; I especially like the way you matured his character. In the show he always seems to pick up on little hints, and I love how you portrayed him as understanding his impatient grandchildren and the nurse. Making him suspicious of Quatre's death is a little questionable. It logically fits into Wufei's character, but does not follow the feel of the fic...on the other hand, I think that putting it there makes your fic Wufei more of a three-dimensional character. As a side note, the deaths of the other characters were all plausibly explained and fit their personalities. I'm glad you seem to understand the characters so well.

This is a gem. You have captured the essence of growing old alone. I salute you for your empathy and attention to detail. Your writing is a little clumsy; nothing that will not go away with practice. Working on your word choice would be a good idea; there are a few times when you use a word that works, but the implications of the word you make it less suitable than another. "Less" when it should be "fewer", etc. The lack of descriptions works very well for this fic because it is an inner setting -- there is no need for description, because all the story takes place inside one person. However, if you write fanfics that are more action-oriented, I would suggest putting in more adjectives relating to the physical surroundings. Thank you for submitting this to FFRG; fics like this one keep readers going.
