Ah, prejudice and discrimination, -- how small people make themselves feel better about being who/what they are. It spans the globe and passes through time. As always, I appreciate the tidbits of info into both the historical perpective and the modern-day one. And we all know that if anyone would be strong enough to turn her back on those things, it's our Kagome. That's why we love her. ^_^ Thanks for sharing this.

to take a stand for justice and equality, to stick to one's guns, to take the unpopular course because it's the right one... i remember the race riots in the 60's, i remember the looks and comments my sister and her black husband encountered for the first decade of their marriage until people were more used to seeing interracial couples in pennsylvania. a couple years ago i was walking through a 'white' mall in alabama with my 'black' nephew and i felt as if i stepped back in time. . . you depicted the close minded of every era/community in a very realistic and profound way. your research was showing. a lesson in tolerance, BRAVO! ~ thank you, ginny
