I was moved by the Kikyo backstory. That's something you don't see everyday and you captured it in a short format that feels complete. The first piece is moving, although I can't quite envision Naraku feeling that way for more than a second. Loved the meditation story one the most, I think. It keeps the spirit, Shippo makes mischief and Miroku controls his hentai spirit enough to reach a higher plane. I especially like his concept of meditation and "getting there." Very nice work. I hope for more.

In a way, I really liked chapter one, because Naraku got what was coming to him in the end with eternal suffering; karma at its finest. Although it was also sad at the mention of everyone's deaths, so I'm torn. I really, really liked chapter two; an introspective we don't see very often. Chapter three was just silly, but it did make me smile a bit. I think chapter four was definitely my favorite. I've never personally been a Kikyou hater to begin with, but I think this piece would make even the most hard-core "Kinky-ho" fanatic have second thoughts. You raise a very good point, in that in the canon, we are not enlightened as to what happened to their parents, but it is true that Kikyou was seemingly raising young Kaede on her own, in a village that was her duty to protect yet void of family members or a home outside of the shrine. While I've seen the theme of chapter five used a few times in the past, it was still incredibly well written, and I liked it very much. Chapter six would have to be my second most favorite of this collection at its current stage. While I've seen scenes with Kagome trying to meditate in other stories, this stand-alone moment seemed to reflect so much, and it included everything! There were several comedic moments including the sitting as well as Miroku's hentai thoughts, try as he might to control himself. Then there were also touching moments when Inuyasha's heart went out to her, even if he cursed himself for going 'soft'. A very lovely piece. A very lovely collection. I do hope it will not stop at only six chapters.
