I'm totally loving Midnight Masquerade. I like how you name-dropped Karanousuke, though this is clearly an entirely different universe. Regardless of what universe they find themselves in, Sango and Miroku are simply meant to be together. So many things are left unsaid in this. Although it's implied that Miroku knows Inuyasha from his comment, we have no idea how Inuyasha and Kagome will feel to realize that the date they set up for her blew her off and she ended up with Miroku instead. Still, this isn't about them. Miroku better not be the flirt he can be in the Canon, though, because Sango definitely deserves a man who only has eyes for her.

I love the midnight masquerade chapter! It is perfect! Sweet without being overly so.

I love the different tack you put on Sango's struggle with staying home (at least from the little bit I've read on that genre) - not that it's about how she measures up as a wife, but that it's about being something different, being a burden, and not being with her husband. I think the last is my favorite tidbit. I love Sango's protective instincts - and of course they would flare up so greatly in such a situation - and that they encompass all her friends, male/female/young/old/husband alike, despite how unusual that might be. Delineating her struggle with not being able to protect...well, that's what really got me at least. I think you handled it fabulously and showed such interesting facets of their relationship together.

This has got to be one of the best post-manga canon Miroku/Sango stories that I have read. The setup is believable (and brings up the unfortunate realization that they may have defeated Naraku but they are still very much human and susceptible to accidents and mistakes just like anyone else), and the closeness and affection between the characters is touching and realistic. The lemon scene was wonderfully done. Instead of seeming porny (for lack of a better term), it reads as a real affirmation of their relationship and their love for one another. It's erotic without being tasteless, a quality that I envy about your writing. Very few authors have that sort of talent (particularly fan authors). You really get the sense from reading this that they have come a long way together in the aftermath of Naraku's death, and that even though it requires a lot of adjustment, this is not a bad thing at all. In fact, I have an increasingly difficult time believing that these characters are hard for you to write, because you really do make it look effortless.

I absolutely love chapter 2! Even though I realize this is a series of requested one-shots and it will likely not be continued, it leaves the reader wanting more, which is the sign of an excellent writer. Well done!

Thanks again for this wonderful piece of fluff. I love the sweetness and sensuality of it as they wake up together their first morning as newlyweds.
