Fabulous! I thought the POV for each character worked really well in this story. The plot was so original, and poignant (ok, maybe 'tear-jerkingly sad and yet beautiful' is a better description, but I loved it! Thanks for sharing!

Awesome! I really liked the way you used the song lyrics for your scene breaks--it worked really well. Songfics can be tricky because you don't want the lyrics to disrupt the flow of the story. I think the first person POV worked well for this, too. The plot was intriguing and the ending sad, yet still with a positive note running through it. I like the understated way you played their relationship. It wasn't an all-out love affair, but instead, an intimate, private understanding. This was very much a "star-crossed lovers" type of story, and you did it so nicely. I think you gave good reasons for both of them to be behaving differently than we might normally expect, and I was actually a bit tickled by the fact that Kagome was behaving more like we might expect Hiei to, and that he was the one to "save her soul." I always love it when an author reverses the usual situation! The part where Kagome was telling him that she really never gave a second thought to the cost to her own soul because she was doing it for the ones she loved was great. You made a big point without pounding it into the readers' heads. I give you 5 stars! Loved it!
