Who would be stupid enough to complain about this masterpiece? This was beautiful! And I was actually going to compliment you on adding a couple new factors in here that I've never personally seen done before. In and around all of the talk of Kagome staying with Inuyasha and his vow to Kikyou, I don't think I've ever seen the concept of Kagome actually bonding her soul to his in a way that has nothing to do with 'youkai mating' and would as a result drag her into hell right after him should he truly die with Kikyou. Whether it would truly be from her physically bonding her soul to his - as you implied she did - or even from sheer willpower alone because of her need to keep her own vow, I've never seen that concept done or mentioned. I have seen reference in other stories to people realizing Kikyou's soul couldn't go into hell, because it would just go back to Kagome, but I've also never seen the concept of Kagome unable to commit suicide because if she died before the others in any way her death would also equal Kikyou's death. So that's two new concepts from you in here that I've never seen anyone else come up with, and with the way you explained it all, it makes perfect sense! Aside from all that, I also loved how in chapter two you revealed that Inuyasha was actually aware of all that Kagome had done, even though in chapter one we're led to believe that she doesn't realize this. I guess he was more sensitive to her bonding herself to him than she'd realized, thinking it was her expression and just being human that was revealing her hurt when he could in fact actually sense it more directly, as well as her desire to keep her vow to stay with him no matter what. I also liked how you incorporated that scene from the first movie, and how him telling her he needed her with him was him asking her to stay, selfishly knowing that she would. Some people have issue with the movies and anime not being 'canon' but I love incorporating anime-exclusive details when they are appropriate for the makeup of the story, so no complaints here about that addition. All in all fabulous job. I just kind of feel sorry for them, though, knowing how painful that three year separation really had to be for them given the severity of their bond. But even though I know that painful time is coming, I also know it will have a happy ending, because Kagome was bound and determined to keep her vow and find a way back to him. Part of me would like to see an epilogue to this universe of that final chapter, where she returns, but on the other hand part of me thinks this is perfect just the way it is, so I'm not going to ask for a sequel you probably have no intention of writing. Excellent job!
