*lol* Cute and sweet. I like the end. "No dessert until you finish..." heehee. Not a threat I imagine that he's heard often.

Really liked your writing style and the insight to what Vegeta was thinking. I'd love to read more of your work.

I do like it. You've captured the spirit of a quiet evening at home with...tuna noodle casserole...

LOL

Anyway, hope to see some more from this series soon!

After responding to a flame to my other fic ("Beyond Hate"), I realized that I should probably write something here, too.

I wanted to thank everyone who's commented so far for their kind words, and I hope that anyone else who read this fic found it worth their time.

This story was inspired by a real-life event: my first exposure to tuna-noodle hotdish three years ago, cooked by my (then) new boyfriend. He's now much more than that, thankfully, though like Vegeta, I had my doubts when I first looked at the finished product! :)

For those of you who asked for more, there will be, but I can't say when. I'm a PhD student doing dissertation research, and while I'm not on anyone's clock to finish the degree, I would like to finish up this academic year, and I admit to feeling a little guilty when I spend my time writing (or mostly, reading) fics, rather than my thesis. I'll write what I can, when I can, but the academic stuff must take priority. :/

As I said in the intro piece, "Hot Dish Hentai" is a flashback, to be embedded in a much larger story. Sadly, in the larger story, Bulma is long dead, their children are grown, and Goku is (of course) absent. Part of the point of HDH was to describe Vegeta and Bulma's relationship. Much of the DBZ fanfic literature I'm familiar with is yaoi-oriented, and when Bulma is included, she's often described as someone who simply bore Vegeta's children, and little else. I will say here that my trilogy does have yaoi/shonen-ai elements to it, but I also take a radical stance, at least for yaoi writing, that Vegeta and Bulma really did love each other, and that like most love, straight, gay, or what-have-you, the love was usually quiet, and not continuously and dramatically at the forefront. I also take the radical approach of depicting sex "off-camera" - I'd prefer to let readers fill in the blanks with their own imaginations (the story "Beyond Hate" being a notable exception). Implied erotica is sometimes the best erotica of all. Besides, I'd rather leave explicit erotica to the women writers, who tend to do a better job with it anyway... :)

But enough babbling from me. I enjoyed writing HDH, and I'm glad that at least a few others enjoyed reading it. I hope that if and when I write the "States of Being" trilogy, I can keep, or improve on, what I did here. I won't say what happens in the trilogy, but it will be funny, sad, angry, tender, technical, simple, adventurous, and quiet.

In other words, contradictory, just like real life. :) Thanks again!
