thought i'd add my two and one half cents. i must admit, it took me until about scene 3 to really understand whose life it was and then my brain was on overdrive putting the scenes into order, giving the whys and the hows and the whens and congratulations, this is ken and this is perfect. many, many, bonus points on the orignality of the structure, excellent description of the whip in the most simple tactile way, leaving out all the pages and pages you could've done on the feelings of power included in it. ah, i digress. but wow, this isn't a story i will easily forget. 10s all around. you should really consider entering this in the big-ass contest that's up and running!

I don't usually review, but this was gorgeous. It said...inevitability, and circularity, and 'should have but isn't', and...yeah, swirling vortex of pain and love and so on kinda works for it. It's Ken in the purest essence, and definately the breath caught in my throat at the rightness of the ending.

okay, i am OFFICIALLY freaked now. first, my friend goes all weird on me, then I read Vain's new story, then I read the one by u where Dai's the Kaiser and he's calling Ken 'pretty boy', and finally I read this. ...I think i need to go rethink how i spend my relaxation time now... |
