So much raw emotion is felt throughout your stories. I Haven't read one yet that didn't have me thinking or crying. Bravo.

You know, I don't know what it is about this story. I just had to read it again, even though I knew it would make me cry. Heh. So now I'm sitting here with tears sliding down my face, trying not to start sobbing.

It's amazing to think how a particular arrangement of words can evoke such a profound response. And I can still feel little tremors go through me when I think about what happened to Kichiro.

I would point out each line which affected me, but I doubt you want me to recant the entire story.

'Beware of Fame' has become my favourite story, ever. It's replaced my all-time fave Stephen Donaldson books, which I have loved since I was ten. If you ever publish this, maybe as part of a collection of short stories, (and you have more than enough talent to do so), then I declare the right to the first signed copy.

It's also cathartic, reading about Kichiro's pain. The betrayal and hopelessness he must have felt at being betrayed....well, most of us can empathise with that. We've all been hurt before, maybe not to such lengths, but certainly enough to recognise the emotions you describe Kichiro going through.

This was such a heart-wrenching tale. And the length doesn't detract from it's effectiveness. It leaves you wanting more, desperately, and your mind asking if maybe, just maybe, Kichiro is alive, even though you know he's dead. But I suppose it's that little bit of hope which helps us to live through our hurts.

You've managed to capture everything perfectly.

I stand in awe.

Hugs,

~Shi-koi~
