the change concerning Keitaro was weird. I mean Kitsune has Keitaro's voice and he has Kitsune's sake in his stomach. I enjoyed Kitsune's little scheme with Keitaro. It is a hilarious story. This's what I call Love-Hina-esque.

The Idea is pretty good, and you've written it well. But there would be some possibilities to improve the funny situations. Maybe this will be the case in the uncensored version. Good story. Kind of cliche, but very enjoyable. Sorry, but i couldnt tell if you were a man or woman, though, if you are a man you must have did some researching. Of course, that 'adorable' in parentheses while mentioning Seta gives me the impression you're a woman? Regardless, great story. I kind of wished Motoko and Keitaro would have changed. Then, it would have been cool if Keitaro changed into every single inhabitant of Hinata every week!

I really enjoyed this fic as a Love Hina fan and avid fanfic reader/writer. Most body swap fics fall short of expectations but this was very solid. The characters remained IC and a lesson was learned... what that was I'm not sure, but it was a lesson. Keep up the good work. Je ne! |

I can't believe nobody has reviewed this...!
Okay, so the "swapping of bodies" is a cliche even outside the fanfic world, but it's very well handled here; and it gives a very nice insight to the lives of both Keitaro and Kitsune (I always felt Kitsune was a somewhat overlooked character in the original "Love Hina" manga/anime, so it's always great to see a story where she takes up center stage like this).
"Identity Crisis" is a very charming story, and the swapping of the bodies is done very nicely -- with JUST the right amount of "light ecchiness" that would follow such a swap. I particularly enjoyed Kitsune's primary reaction to discovering she was suddenly a male... Very funny and very much in character.
The characterization and general tone of the story is, in a word, spot-on. This IS how the "Love Hina" universe functions. It's good to see a Love Hina fanfic that has someone sympathetic to Keitaro without going totally OOC and start praising him for everything he's done. Much as I like Keitaro, and feel sorry for him when life just doesn't want to give him a break, it just wouldn't be in the spirit of "Love Hina" for any of the girls to actually realize how horrible they always treat him... Oh well.
All in all, a great piece of work that really deserves an overall rating of 9! |
