It'd no doubt help in the reviewing that I promised to do if I knew much at all about this particular fandom, but I'll give it a go nevertheless. In regards to the general style, there are quite a few things that I liked in this piece. I do enjoy seeing a nicely developed vocabulary; though, on the other hand, sometimes the simpler words can work better. For the most part, the choice of words made the imagery more vivid, but the term "ebony eyes" has always made me giggle for some reason. You might consider pulling an adjective from "thin layer of protective clothing", too. Also, I'm not entirely sure that "gasping breaths panting over his velvety, pink lips" creates quite the right visual - at least, for me it doesn't. As I initially meant to say though, very good overall. The events flow well and, additionally, I liked the spacing. Of course, I do adore setting short sentences off by themselves as often as possible, so that opinion is rather biased. The characterization seemed to be developing splendidly - hurray for not putting blocks of character history/physical description in inappropriate places! The spelling and grammar were practically impeccable, as far as I'm concerned. 'Nough said there. I was conflicted as to what to put for the originality/creativity rating. The writing was great, but I've seen several stories that began very similarly and I couldn't bring myself to put higher than a seven when someone else's characters are being played with. Alas, I suppose I'm not cut out for fanfiction reviewing. However, I am confident that the opportunity to demonstrate more originality will present itself as the story continues. It is sometimes difficult to look very creative in just one chapter. For an opening chapter, it certainly wasn't boring. So far, the reading has been quite enjoyable. Good job! I averaged everything out in order to calculate the overall rating. It was an 8.5, so I rounded up. Build on that second chapter preview! There's a definite potential for some interesting writin' here.

Yay! a good Kyou Kara Maou fanfic, though you might want to work on you colors a bit. Yuuri has black eyes and Gunther has white hair. But we all forgive you! If you want payback go to my story and tell me how much I suck as well and Ill try to fix it. ^_^ just trying to help and yours was one of the only interesting storys that i wanted to read. So be very proud, You know how to be interesting and creative. ( if you dont belive my ramblings, look at the scores i gave you)^_^

Excellent first Kyo Kara Maoh fic here! I really enjoyed it. Your style of writing was very easy to read and the pace was just perfect. I loved the characterizations of Yuri and Wolfram. Can't wait to read the next chapter.
