There has been two years of peace since the end of KH2. However, a new threat arises that far surpass the Heartless. Kairi has been kidnapped, the keyblades shattered beyond use. Riku and Sora must track down the kidnappers and rescue Kairi. However, what they come across is far greater a threat than they themselves have percieved. They join with their old team as well as new friends to help rescue Kairi and put a stop to the Imperial advance of the Dark Empire.
