Title: Stand Back Up [ Anime/Manga :: Fullmetal Alchemist ] By: BtP
Uploaded On: Mar 22 20:15:05 2005
Description: Post-series Edward. Drawn with mechanical pencil - colored and 'spiffy-ified' with Photoshop Elements 2.0. This picture probably wouldn't be around if I hadn't read girl_starfish's "Happy Families", and the "Alter!Series" off LiveJournal. The quote read more

I thought the pic was void of true detail. Everythings a bit fuzzy and distant looking. There is no intensity. The color is washed out, like the lines. The picture is boring to the eye and easily overlooked. When I first see the picture, my eyes aren't drawn anywhere and that's a problem. The form, however, is decent. Overall: I give you a 'Not-Half-Bad-For-A-Less-Than-Artist' review rating.

It's very good. I love the old fashion coloring.

I enjoy the concept of the piece, but the coloring loses me. It seems way too dull. More intense colors could have been used in my oppinion, something to bring more attraction to the picture in that scence. The drawing is very well done, but the chin is where the drawing bit bugs me. For a profile piece it's really lacking for lips and such seeing as how this is trying to be a very serious picture and not chibi. There should be a show for the upper and lower lips and I think that the chin might possably be too long. The shoes are also a big iffy for me. There should be more there than what you have...Keep plucking away at it. I think you have alot of talent but just need that little bit more practice for it. **nods** ^^ Keep going~Phox

I'll punch you, and then I'll help you back up: I think the flaw here is the weak face profile. Admittedly, I'm not the best person with words, but look at the flat top of his hair, down to his neck, his nose, his chin--no definition, no strength or angles, I guess. It's not as big of a flaw as I made it seem, though. This picture really does COME together. The coloring style with all its pretty sketchiness, the outfit, the pose, the expression...all these factors fit to make a really great picture, and I complement you on your good work.

Wooohooo! Gotta love those colors. I love the sketchiness of he picture. It gives the picture an personality of it's own. I love his hair because it looks really natural on the character and the text suit this picture well. The outfit is good with the picture and the colors give it that old and ancient look that the outfit already gives the character but doesn't take away from it. Good Job! ^_^Songie

Great colouring, fantastic texturing, a wonderful combination of elements to bring this one together. The only thing that bugs me is his pants and feet, the seam doesn't appear to sit right and the thickness of the pants and size of feet don't flow particularly naturally. It's a complex pose for pants drawing, the crotch of pants are a pain at the best of times, there is nothing for it but to get an example to work off, though as a rule slightly larger pants are usually harder to fault then too thin pants, and the central seam should be symmetrical between the hips. Overall, I really like this picture… nice Biz ;)
