Chapter 2

A/N: Ok, same ol' drill as last time. ~blah~ = thoughts "blah" = dialog. With that said and done, here is the long awaited Chapter 2!! *everyone claps* ^^;;

Vegeta wiped the sweat off his brow with a towel as he stepped out of the gravity chamber. He walked inside his apartment and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

It had been 3 months since he moved out of Capsule Corp. He was now living alone in an apartment that was actually just a few streets down from Capsule Corp.

He undressed, turned the water on, and stepped into the shower. He just stood there, allowing the warm water to wash the sweat off of him. As he stood there, gazing up at the faucet for no aparent reason, he started thinking...

~3 months. 3 months is a long time to go without seeing your family. Famliy? Yes...they are my family. My only family. It's only around them that I feel I actually...belong? Yes, when I'm with them, I do belong.~

Even though he would probably never admit it, he missed them terribly. He thought about Bulma, Trunks, and Bra every day of his life since he left.

He didn't live too far from Capsule Corp. So close he could walk there. But he could never bring himself to go. He wanted to see Bulma, but at the same time, he didn't want to. When he first left, he was angry with her. Over time, the anger somewhat died out...but we are talking about Vegeta so I guess there's still some in him.

~Why can't I go there? I should be there if that's where I belong...right? If I belong there...then...~ "Then why am I not there?" he said aloud as he slammed his fist against the shower wall. Thankfully, he didn't hit the wall too hard so there wasn't any damage. He did not need to have to pay to repair a wall.

Speaking of paying, that brings up the money situation. Bulma gave him money when he left, but it was starting to run low. Vegeta would have to get more money soon. And he didn't know how he was going to go about getting more money from Bulma. But it's probably best if we cross that bridge when we get there, eh?

He finished washing up, got out of the shower, and put on some dry, clean clothes.

He walked into the kitchen and started fixing himself something to eat. And he fixed alot of food! But he is a saiyan, after all, so of course his meal was quite...large.

When he finished eating, he went into the small living room and sat down on the couch. He turned on the TV and started flipping through channels to find something to watch.

Unfortunately, there wasn't anything on that looked semi-interesting. So he turned off the TV and tried to think of something else to do. Usually when he was bored he would just go to sleep, but tonight he wasn't very tired.

Then he remembered the small radio Bulma had put in one of his bags. He didn't know why she packed it, he didn't listen to music very much when he was at Capsule Corp.

Maybe he didn't then, but for some reason he had started listening to the radio when he trained. Bulma had told him once that if you listen to the radio while you work, it helps you to relax. She said that when she listened to music while she worked, it took her mind off of things around her and she concentrated better. He found that she was right. It does take your mind off things.

Seeing the radio sitting on the ground by the TV, he went over and turned it on. It was always on the same channel because of two reasons. One, he didn't know any other channels and two, he kinda liked the music this one played. Sure, sometimes it played some crappy pop and r&b stuff but it played alot of rock music, which is what he liked.

He turned up the volume a little bit, but not too loud. Then, he went and laid down on the couch. He was in a weird mood that night; he felt...different.

Once the song was over the DJ came on air.

"And that was Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse," said the DJ. "It's your man, Isaac, in here with ya and ya know, we're doing the all dedications Thursday night. So if you gotta song you wanna send out to someone, gimme a call, you know the number-555-1234. I'll try to get it on for ya but right now we got a little Creed with One Last Breath. Right here on today's hottest music, FM102." With that said, the song started playing.

Vegeta had heard this song before and he liked it, but he wondered about this "dedication" thing the DJ was talking about.

After the song had finished, Isaac came back on air.

"Hey, alright, I'm bout to go to the phones and who's this?"

"Marron," said the person on the phone.

~Marron?~ thought Vegeta. ~Isn't that baldy's kid?~

"Ok, Marron. What can I do for ya?" asked Isaac.

"Um..could you play Picture by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow?"

"Yeah, I'll get it on for ya. And may I ask who's it for?"

"It's for my boyfriend, Trunks," she replied.

~Trunks?! Only he would go out with baldy's daughter...~ thought Vegeta.

"Oh, your boyfriend, eh? Well, alright I'll get the song on for ya."

"Ok, thanks. Bye."

Then the song started playing. Vegeta hated this song. It sounded so country. But at least he figured out what the dedication thing was. That's when he got an idea...

You see, there was this song he heard before that almost said everything he wanted to tell Bulma. It took him a minute or two to remember the name of the song and who sang it, but when he did remember, Picture was almost over. So he got the phone and started dialing a certain number...

*Capsule Corp*

Bulma was in the lab working on a gadget she had been trying to fix all afternoon. She had the radio on and the song Picture was about to end. When it finally did, ol' Isaac came back on.

"I'm going back to the phones now and who am I talkin to?"

"Vegeta," said the person on the phone.

When Bulma heard that, she instantly dropped everything.

"Alright, would you like to dedicate a song?"

"Yeah, play The Question by Familiar 48 and I'd like to dedicate it to Bulma."

"Bulma? Isn't that the Capsule Corp. president's daughter? What is she your girlfriend or just a friend?"

"That's none of your business!" replied Vegeta, harshly, as usual.

"Hey man, sorry. You're right, it ain't none of my business. But I'll get that song on for ya, alright?"

"Ok, bye."

When they hung up the phones, the song started playing. Bulma couldn't believe her ears!

~Was that really Vegeta?? Dedicating a song?? ...to me?? Wait a minute, I wonder what kind of song this is anyway...~ She stopped working and starting listening to the lyrics.

//I love you

So she says

As she stops her thoughts and turns her head

I guess I am not supposed to care

I'm no good

I don't belong

I don't know how I made it this far along

I should not be here today

And she falls down trying

And she falls down crying

And she tells me that she does it all for me

When the clouds come

And the rain falls

When there's nothing here to hold on

Will I be here is the question from you

Understood

So afraid

As I stop myself from throwing my thoughts away

I will not apologize//

Then the chorus played again. But it was these next few lyrics that took Bulma by suprise.

//When I look at you

You know I will be there

And I'll hold on to the feelings we both share

And I won't let go if I catch you when you fall//

The chorus played once again then the song ended.

Bulma was shocked that Vegeta would dedicate such a song to her. But now, she knew that this song came straight from his heart and that he really did care about her, regardless of what he said.

She had to get him back. She ran back into the main house, threw on her jacket, hopped in her car, and headed straight for those apartments. Thankfully, she knew his apartment number. Now, she was determined to get him back where he belonged--with her.

Next time...

Bulma arrives at Vegeta's apartment and she begins her attempt to get him to come back. Will the saiyan prince come back to live at Capsule Corp? Or will he refuse and everything between them be gone for good? Find out next time!

Ack, I just felt like doing that again. >_<;; Well, whaddya think? Did ya like? I hope u did. Do u think I made Vegeta a little OOC on the whole dedicating a song part? I think he was a little but not too much. And I'm so sorry it took me so long to post this chappie. Hope you'll forgive me! ^_^ I'll try to be faster on getting the other one up, k? Well, review plz but plz don't flame me! XD

Ok, just some notes here: FM102 is the name of a 4-real station that comes on where I live. I do NOT own it, it's not mine. And no, 555-1234 is not the real number of that radio station! ^^;; But most of u should know that no numbers begin with 555.
