Chapter 3

Disclaimer: Really, I don't own Ranma1/2 or Ronin Warriors. They belong to Rumiko
Takahashi and Sunrise, respectively. Suing me will get you a ball of lint and some dental
floss. However, Jen and Isis are mine and any unauthorized use of them will result in me
sending a pack of rabid jackals after you. You have been warned.

Jen looked down at the small black piglet sitting among Ryoga's clothes and wearing his
bandana as a scarf.

~Oh, boy.~, she thought with a sweatdrop as she put 2 and 2 together. ~That's why he
was so nervous about the prospect of it raining.~ She looked up at the sky and figured
that the rain wouldn't be stopping any time soon.

The little black piglet, named P-Chan, looked up at Jen with sad eyes as she looked
back down at him, the rain dripping off of her armor in various places.

~Oh great. Now she knows about my curse and will hate me. There's no way she'll help
me get back to Nerima now that she knows that I turn into a pig when hit with cold
water! Why me?!~ P-Chan's thoughts were interrupted as Jen picked him up from the
midst of the now wet clothing.

"I don't suppose there's a way to change you back?", she inquired, and P-Chan nodded.

"So, there is a way, huh? Okay, what is it?"

"Bwee Bweee.", P-Chan replied, translating, roughly, to "Hot water."

Jen looked at the piglet quizzically.

"What was that? Could you repeat that?"

"Bwee! Bwee bwee bwee!" (Translation: "Idiot! Pigs can't talk!")

"I am such a bloody moron. Of course he can't answer me...pigs can't speak!", she said,
sweatdropping again, as realization hit.

"I suppose we should find shelter from the rain while I figure out what I'm going to do
with you.", she said as she looked around and spotted an empty building nearby.

"How about that building?", she asked and P-Chan nodded and "bweed" in agreement.
He was starting to get cold.

"Okay, just let me get your things together first.", she said, P-Chan trying to warn her
against trying to pick up his umbrella, but Jen had already found out, the hard way, that
the umbrella would be too heavy for her.

"Okay, we'll leave the umbrella for now. That building's just close enough that we can
keep an eye on it until we get you back to normal and it stops raining long enough for
you to get it yourself. There's no way I can lift it. I think that even Kento would have a
hard time with it and he's physically the strongest one of us.", she said as she picked up
Ryoga's clothing and hiking pack, and headed for the building she had chosen, letting P-Chan to ride on her right shoulder guard.

When they got into the building, she set the stuff down and sat down, allowing P-Chan
to jump off her shoulder. The little pig scampered over to the hiking pack and "bweed"
loudly.

"Is there something in there that you want?", Jen asked as she crawled over to the pack
and opened it.

"Okay, I'll start pulling things out. When I pull out something that you want, tell me,
because I have no idea what's going on here or how the rain turned you into a pig.", she
said as she started pulling things out of the pack. When she pulled out a gas powered
hot plate, P-Chan "bweed".

"Okay, is there anything else that you want in here?", she asked and the pig nodded.

"Same procedure. Tell me when I pull out something that you want.", she said, then
started to pull things out again. When she pulled out a tea kettle, P-Chan "bweed" again.

"Tea kettle, huh? Good, I think it's nearing tea time anyway, and I recall pulling some tea
out a minute ago. Now, I just need to fill the kettle with water.", she said, as she picked
up the kettle and looked around, noting that the building they were in was an office
building. More importantly, she noticed that there was a water fountain nearby.

"Perfect! A water fountain!", she exclaimed with a grin as she stood and walked over to
the water fountain and filled the kettle with water. When the kettle was full, she walked
back over to where P-Chan was waiting. The little pig was thinking of how he was going
to tell her to pour the hot water on him after heating it up. He looked at her as she sat
down and picked up the hot plate, trying to figure out how to work the thing.

"I'm no camper. I don't suppose you'll show me how to work this bloody thing.", she
asked the pig, who trotted over and pointed out the correct controls with his snout.

After she got the flame going, she nodded as she put the kettle on to boil. "Thanks."

P-Chan watched her, still trying to figure out how to communicate to her the need to
pour the hot water on him to change him back to normal. He also wondered why he
wasn't feeling at all nervous around her.

~Probably because she acts like "one of the guys" instead of like a girl. That, and she's
not Akane. She seems to still be willing to help me, even though she knows about my
curse, now. Oh wait, she doesn't know it's a curse yet because I haven't had a chance
to tell her. When will that stupid water start boiling!~

His train of thought was derailed when the kettle started to whistle. As Jen started to
pick up the kettle, she was surprised when a little black something ran into her hand at
full speed. She looked down and saw P-Chan looking at her excitedly.

"Do you want to get burned? Now stand back while I make myself some tea.", she said,
slightly irritated. She went to pour the hot water into the cup and her hand was bumped
by P-Chan again.

"What the bloody hell is with you?", she said, then her eyes widened as a mental light
bulb appeared over her head. "It's the hot water. If I pour some of this hot water on you,
you'll turn back into Ryoga, right?"

P-Chan nodded as emphatically as a piglet could. Jen shrugged and poured some of the
water on the little pig before pouring some into the cup and putting a tea bag in the
water. When she looked up, P-Chan had turned back into Ryoga, who was now wearing
nothing except his bandana and an extremely embarrassed look on his face as he
blushed furiously, trying not to either get a nosebleed or pass out from embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Jen's face was a shade darker than the red of her armor.

"Erm....Umm... T-t-t-talk about an awkward s-s-s-situation. I think I'll turn around now.",
she stammered as she turned around, still blushing furiously and sweatdropping.
Suddenly the tea she was making for herself was intensely interesting.

Slightly relieved, Ryoga quickly rummaged around in his pack for some dry clothes, and,
upon finding some, broke the world record for getting dressed. He looked outside and
saw that the rain had stopped.

"Erm, Jen, I'm going out to get my umbrella. It's stopped raining.", he said nervously,
and she simply nodded.

He ran out of the building to where his umbrella still was, avoiding the puddles as he
went. He watched the clouds a bit nervously as he picked up the umbrella and ran back
to the abandoned office building, avoiding the puddles on the way back.

"Um, why do you turn into a pig when hit with water?", Jen asked as he sat down and
began putting the stuff back into his pack.
"Well, I was pursuing Ranma, the guy I'm going back to Nerima to fight, to Jusenkyo, in
China, and was knocked into one of the cursed springs by a red-haired girl, who was
chasing a Panda. I later found out that Ranma was the girl and the panda was his father.
They had both been knocked into cursed springs as well."

"Cursed springs?"

"Yes, at Jusenkyo, if you fall into one of the many springs, you take the form of whoever
or whatever last drowned in that spring. Ranma fell into the Spring of Drowned Girl, his
father fell into the Spring of Drowned Panda, and I was knocked into the Spring of
Drowned Pig.", Ryoga explained, getting a bit angry at the memory. He clearly hated
turning into a pig.

Jen nodded sympathetically,

"Sounds like you got the worst curse of the three. This Ranma is still human when he's
in his cursed form, no one eats panda, but people love to eat pork.", she said, causing
Ryoga to glare at her.

"Right, and people have tried to eat me. Fortunately, they try to boil me alive, and the
hot water changes me back before I'm turned into sweet and sour pork.", he said, a bit
angrily, then looked a bit depressed as he looked at her.

"I suppose you don't want to help me now that you know about my curse.", he said
dejectedly. Jen shook her head.

"No, I said I'd help you get back to Nerima, and I'll help you get back. I gave my word
and I'll keep it.", she said, suddenly finding herself nearly bowled over by a now happy
Ryoga, who decided to show his gratitude by hugging her. His strength nearly knocked
the armored warrior over, and nearly dented the mystical armor.

"Thanks, Jen. You're a true friend!"

"Um, Ryoga...we just met a couple of hours ago...", she said with yet another bead of
sweat making its appearance. "Besides, I think we've rested long enough. Let's head on
out again."

Ryoga had already let her go and was putting his umbrella through the loops on top of
his pack. Standing, he shouldered the pack and nodded.

"I'm ready.", he said.

"Okay then, let's move out!", she said.

Just as they left the building, Jen tensed as she sensed something. Then they both
heard an evil laugh.
"Isis.", Jen said." Ryoga, get ready to fight. There's no way we'll be able to avoid this
one."

Ryoga nodded as he got his umbrella, and prepared for battle, standing back to back
with Jen, who had unsheathed her swords.

Dynasty Soldiers appeared from no where and surrounded them. The battle was about
to begin.

To be continued...

a/n: There...a better cliffhanger than the one that ended chapter two. I think I'll draw a
fanart based on the beginning of this chapter with Jen holding P-Chan and thinking "oh,
boy...". XD

Until Chapter 4...ja ne!
