I really did love this. Sometimes it takes effort to get into a story, but this drew me in from the beginning. I just loved everything about this. All the characters are perfectly in character (Usopp seems a little too brave near the end, though, but then again I love his gutsy side.) and your originals are inventive too. This has One Piece style throughout it. The birds in that one guy's beard seems completely like something you would see in the manga. One question though...what about Nami's Weather Rods? She has them after Alabasta, and should have used Cylcone Tempo at least against the guards. Besides that and one or two grammar errors, this is a perfect fic. Please update soon so I can read more!
