Now I've read a lot of Bulma/Vegeta fanfic over the years and I can honestly say to you that I've never read a more refreshing and hilariously natural portrayal of their characters. Bulma's battling with her annoyance and her knowing the inevitable versus Vegeta's being completely duped into his arrogant but amusing king of the universe shtick by Piccollo. I adore them, really I do.

A perfect little story. You DO have him pegged. "Later." The classic Vegeta arrogance just comes through this little one shot beautifully. Piccolo's character was spot on also. Even The last line was great, with Piccolo going back to his meditation "after dealing with one of his subject's problem." Just great.

So what is it? Have you got Vegeta tied up somewhere, asking him how he would act and what he would say. You have him so pegged - he's just so...Vegeta. I love his arrogance at the end - it's nice to see him actually enjoying his power rather than battling with it.

A very enjoyable read, a real little gem of a one-shot. Dialogue, characterization, pacing, plot--everything was right on target. I really liked that Bulma figured out that Vegeta was up to something immediately, even though he was doing exactly what he was doing before. I think that the fact that he stayed around after Cell gave him the chance to develop deeper feelings for Bulma and Trunks as well, and you've described a very IC reason for his continued stay at CC. Thanks for writing this--you're so full of talent and ideas, you must keep 'em coming! More, more!

Lisa...your writing is on-the-spot...characters, imagery, dialogues...made me wish for more! Also makes me want to sit down and write, which is exactly what I needed. Lisa, this was terrific. The concept behind it was very well thought out and the dialogue flow was butter-smooth! I especially liked Bulma's comparison of her intense moments with Vegeta as a movie intermission. That was a Bulma-esque thought and she's the only character that could pull it off with such grace. I do have to ask about "pea knuckle." You know it's "pinouchle," right? Since it was dialogue it could pass for a faux paus by Bulma but it was funny! And Piccolo. (Sigh) So much of what he's thinking I dealing with in my own fic, and you voiced him wonderfully. You can never go back, but sometimes it's hard to know which way to go forward. You need to write more of these!

That was great! I really liked that you gave Piccolo the role of 'mentor' for Vegeta's new way of thinking. It suits him well. Vegeta does seem more complacent in the GT series than in any of the previous ones and I think you gave a great rendition of why. Loved it! Hope to see more soon! Vegeta's Mate

Wonderful story. Original and just plain old fun to read. Nice work to say the least. I just wish I could write like that. You made Piccalo very endeering.
