Great chapter! Congrats on the IYFG Awards! I can't believe that Kouga actually thought he'd get away with lying like that to Sess! He's lucky Sess didn't just rip his head off! Gotta wonder if that is the end of Kouga meddling tho. The scene between Inu and Sess was really touching...both seem to realize the way things have to be because he's hanyou but seem to wish it were otherwise. Can't wait to see what Sess has to say to Kagome! Again CONGRATS!!!

Wow, I've missed quite a bit in my absense, but I had quite the entertaining morning catching up on your story. I really like where this is going. It's not unusual to see Inuyasha and Kouga pitted against one another, but you manage to keep me on my toes by throwing it into a situation that I haven't seen before. I also loved the Sango/Miroku interaction in the last chapter. Very entertaining. His response was so utterly flabergasted that I just had to laugh. Oooooh, next chapter Sesshoumaru meets Kagome. (And I like the way you're writing his character as well... very noble... very true to his actual persona.) I can only hope that she doesn't get so nervous that she does something stupid (as she often tends to... and gets herself in trouble in the process). Thanks so much for writing. Yabou (gah, stupid thing won't let me log in.)

Damn! That was a good chapter. Nothing like seeing Sesshoumaru put someone in their place. Very canon, too. Sesshoumaru might not like that Inuyasha is a hanyou, but NO ONE insults his bloodline. Later, Fyrloche.

GREAT chapter. Kouga just wasn't going to be satisfied until he got his ass kicked for the record. Excuse my French....but that jerk got EXACTLY what was coming to him. In fact, I wish he'd gotten a few more bruises. Inuyasha beat him humiliatingly quickly....but still. He's done enough to warrant much more than that. But, that's just my bloodthirsty side speaking, lol. As for Sesshoumaru....what an entrance. I LOVED him in this chapter. He was regal, arrogant, and quite controlled...but still downright LETHAL. I nearly cheered when he backhanded (pimp-slapped!) Kouga (hmmmm, I forgot about that; maybe Kouga DID get enough of a whupping, from BOTH brothers, lol). And, yes, Sessh was also very SEXY. You can't forget that particular adjective when describing Sesshoumaru. I also liked the talk the brothers had. There is clearly history between them....and most of it isn't good. Inuyasha seems to respect his brother as the leader of his clan...but there isn't much familial closeness. And Inuyasha doesn't seem to be bitter, resentful, or hurt over it (at least not at this point); he just seems to have accepted that this polite, nonrelationship is all he'll have with his older brother. Inuyasha may have wanted there to be more in the past...but has let that go. Surprisingly, it seems like SESSHOUMARU was more open to a more brotherly relationship. He fully acknowledged Inuyasha in front of Kouga and the other ookami, even insisting that Inuyasha be addressed by his title. He even seemed to be admonishing Inuyasha about not seeing him since Kikyou. And, most importantly, he seems to have also come by to check out the woman his brother is seeing, to assess her "worthiness" of being part of the family. Now, I'm also quite sure that Sessh is upholding some stuffy family law by doing this as well....but that's just a convenient excuse, lol. Now, I don't think he all of the sudden wants to be best buddies with his little brother, but I do think he's finally seen that he wants more of a relationship with Inuyasha than this. The rift between the brothers is mostly due to Sesshoumaru's refusal to accept Inuyasha when he was younger. And no doubt, some of the emotional scars Inuyasha carries about his heritage were inflicted by his older brother. So, if I assessed it right, Sesshoumaru will have quite a bit to answer for. And I can't wait to see him and Kagome square off next time, particularly if some of the pillow talk she and Inuyasha have shared has involved his "relationship" with his brother. Inuyasha is really private, and he and Kagome have been together officially a relatively short time. So, he may not have told her the whole story yet, but if he did.....oh, boy! Wow! There was so much good about this chapter that I keep rambling on! So, I'll shut up now. I guess you can tell that I will definitely be looking forward to the next one!

Alright! Sesshoumaru makes his appearance, very nice. I enjoy how you portray the brothers, w/o all the animosity and strife. There's always some tension, of course, but that just adds flavoring! Glad IY is learning a/b his transformations, and maybe how K ties into that and his life. Also nice to know that things with Sango and Miroku are going nicely. Nothing too fast, but steady foundation building all the same. It will be that much more meaningful when they do get together, I think.

Great chappie! I must say, Kouga deserved what he got, the boasting jerk. So glad Inuyasha slapped him upside his arrogant little head... And that was so cool how he got busted by Sesshoumaru! It's never worth it to tell a lie. What I have a question about is Sessh's occupation: Since he had an art gallery, does that mean he's an artist, or did he just have the building named after him? And how he busted Kouga: Is he a lawyer? Please update soon and remember: fish are friends, not food!

Great!! Loved the way Sesshomaru solved the situation, like a true lord. HAHAHA... Kouga had it coming, he is always an arrogant jerk that needs to be put in his place... in the cave where he lives. Loved Inuyasha here, mature and in control... Don't get why they are not talking about youkai mating and only about human wedding. Although, I think, we'll find sooner or later and, they will take both ceremonies... not only for love -Inuyasha is still insecure about been worthy, I think. His youkai is recognizing Kagome as her true mate, tho... so maybe, maybe... Excellent chapter!!! Loved it!! Thank you, thank you! I was needing a dose of Doggieearlover's work! LOL Again, thank you and thank you for sharing with us!!! Great job!!

I love the Sesshoumaru introduction. I hope he isn't too cold to Kagome. I can't wait for the next chapter.

My favorite part of chapter 17 is how Kouga totally underestimates who he's dealing with, has no sense of strategy, and gets his nose wiped because of it. I can't help it. It tickled my heart. Does that make me wicked?

This was very good. I'd like to say something profound about how well you have done the plot and the characters, or give you constructive criticism, but I'll just say I really enjoyed your story and hope to read more.

I guess it's appropriate that I write this review while listening to Star Star by the Rolling Stones, considering Miroku's getting himself into some trouble here. I knew that he'd fall prey to his weakness and rub her bottom---but to do it twice? Inuyasha's right that the monk just won't learn. I will say that I enjoyed seeing Sango and Miroku interacting alone, without school obligations and the like. Miroku, up until the groping that is, knew how to play his cards carefully. He didn't pry into her life, but offered some information about his own to make her feel comfortable, and it worked. I am curious to hear more about this life he led as a child living in the monastery and just who his parents might have been really. I wonder if his parents choice for him might somehow be connected to our mysterious sinister figure behind Kohaku's crimes? I do like the idea of how he arrived at being a professor, too, because it just seems to work. It might seem odd to some, but if you really think about it, it seems that the jobs people get have more to do with WHO they know than WHAT they know. Miroku's qualified, but considering that he wasn't necessarily "experienced," it might have caused him to not get the job, but because he knew the soon to retire professor it opened up for him. I like the fact that Sango is furious with him one moment and the next she's concerned. I'm not sure she even realized that she behaved that way. I felt so bad for Kagome and Inuyasha, at least for being embarrassed that way, but they really need to get beyond that. Sure, they don't have to tell everyone they come across about their sex lives, but then again it's not something to be entirely embarrassed about, either. I must say that the LAST person I thought would ever say they would try to be more "subtle" about something is Inuyasha. That line made me laugh, considering just how he's about the least subtle in the cast of characters---although that can be argued if you take it from the right angle. Your Inuyasha in this AU certainly has a lot more of that going for him. He's a lot calmer, he's a lot more level headed, and he generally thinks things through before he really makes his move, which is unlike how he appears to behave in canon in so many ways. Inuyasha tends to rush into things in canon, but each thing Inuyasha's done in this AU has been done with a lot of thought and consideration. He had to be talked into the tournament. He spent YEARS waiting to tell Kagome how he felt and even thought of how he'd do it and the steps that would lead up to that very moment. He may lose his temper and get surly with Miroku, but he doesn't really get as angry as he could---or as fast. It's the Inuyasha I think we'd see if we could see him a few hundred years down the road from the canon time line. His cautiousness is very emphasized in this story, and it's a feature I think he would have to have to survive. Don't get me wrong, Inuyasha has that element in the canon time line, but it's just not as prominent as it is here. I'll be curious to see how he finds a way to approach his brother about Kagome. I get the sense that they're almost neutral about one another to a point. Don't mess with me and I won't mess with you is how it feels thus far in the brief mentions we've had of Sesshomaru. I don't see him objecting to Inuyasha and Kagome so much. He might have his say and he might say some insulting comments, but he won't object. Inuyasha's hanyou, after all. I will be curious to see how Sesshomaru behaves. He's running an art gallery, which is almost, how shall we say, urban. I do like it, because while he's running a business, it's not the classic cliché of him being some huge business man. He's dealing in art and that can be profitable but also subjective. I just wonder if there's a Rin in the mix somewhere. It just has her touch all over it. He may be doing it to preserve his history as a youkai, but it still smacks of her. Either way, I can't wait for
