Oh, my word. It's a good thing I can't see the story with this window open, or I'd quote half of it back to you, all the while cackling in sheer glee. I have got to find more of your work! I enjoyed "Hymn" on ff.net, where you showed your ability with irony and quiet tragedy. This story is full of so much subtle, understated humor that you had me gasping throughout. Though your styles are quite different, this facility with comedy and tragedy reminds me of Connie Willis, who excels at both. I love how you've taken a simple piece of action, the peeling of a potato, and used it to both display what we know about the characters and deepen our understanding of them ... Spike's general impatience, Faye's theatricality, Jet's world-weariness. I hope you'll post more stories, as you have them.

I enjoy reading "day in the life of" stories. Gives the reader a look into the daily grind of life aboard Bebop between bounty gigs. Very very well done

Witty and funny. I really appreciated the way you used potato peeling as a metaphor to really show each character's personality/issue or lack thereof.
