Your empathy for Chichi is evident. I was pleased to read this delicately viewed piece - so many authors portray Chichi as a nag and all-around irritating spouse and mother
, but I think that you have shown Chichi's true fondness as well as love for her family.
I like the vision, but your phrasing could do with some polish. As an example:
`I can't remember the last time
I only had one plate to wash,' she thought on a small smile.
would be better rendered as
`I can't remember the last time
I only had one plate to wash,' she thought with a small smile.
But above all, keep writing. |
